Memory door not closing with KxS solved

I own Sandisk Extreme III 16Gb,30Mbs cards...they are quite expensive comparing Ultras...so I'm a bit scared to chop... errr..

Anyone know if there is any advantage to having an SD card with two chips in it instead of one????
Maybe parallel processing? The Panasonic P2 card has 4 SD cards in it.

Not a question of the number of cards but more of how they are wired
and how they network to each other.

As has been previously stated - not all cards are the same....

It looked like a problem solved to me, but when I tried to cut into my SanDisk Ultra II 16gb card I found two 8GB chips that take up the entire card space. I do not know if this is an older card or something, but I bought it last month on NewEgg. I suspect the newer 16gb cards only have one chip, which is probably how they are going to make the new 32gb cards (two 16gb chips). If that is the case, then we will not be able to do this method to the 32gb cards.

In any case, I now have a dead 16gb card. It was worth a shot. I ordered three more 16gb cards and will try to figure out if they have one chip in them. In case you can tell anything about SN, the # on this card was BL0811613270B.

Sorry for the bad pics - all I have today is a camera phone.

I have 4 of the SanDisk Ultra IIs, the serial number is the same on all 4: BL0810813270B anybody been successful shaving cards with that number? Also, could someone post a closeup picture showing the back of a successfully shaved card?

At most 1mm, which makes absolutely no difference in closing the door and only opens the end of the card to the elements...
