Just Curious - How Much Could I Get for My DVX100b

Hello all. I am saving up for an HPX170 and apparently not quickly enough. As soon as I get 3-4 grand I was going to sell my DVX100b to help. But now the prices are dropping and dropping. I was hoping to be able to get around 2 grand for my baby. But I have two questions. 1) How much do people pay for DVX100b's in perfect condition? ... and (2) is there still a demand for them? Will it be really difficult to find a buyer? Thanks.

I may not be ready to sell for another couple of months, maybe even 6. How much do you think the price will drop in that time? This is making me anxious. I payed 2750 for this and it is worth every penny. :(

Errgh, I don't think the price will hold up very well at all if you're waiting six months. Usually, the lowest "standard" price I see is $1,800 for any DVX version. I say that if you want to sell it, now's the time, man. You've got cheap HD cameras coming out left and right with not only HD, but 24p modes to boot. But, the DVX has held up well because it is a fully manual control capable camera and it has a "magic" look to it. But those workarounds for the cheap HD cameras are getting easier and easier to pull off.

EDIT:

Also, don't forget the RED Scarlet and Epic announcements. It's going to be a little hard to swallow even $800 for a DVX six months from now when you could get 3K Resolution and 2/3" optics with a tapeless workflow for under an estimated $4,000-$5,000 for a functioning 2/3" Scarlet kit.

prices are between 1500-1600 US Right now and dropping. Too many cameras available on the market and that trend is likley to continue.

I'm having the same thoughts about my HVX200, by the time Scarlet comes out it will be worth nothing.
I guess I'll keep it as a back-up camera (that sucks!!)

What is being revealed there? Anyways, yeah I guess I better act soon and buy a cheap HD cam to tide me over. Are you guys really considering the scarlet as a possible replacement for the HVX though? My understanding was that everything is subject to change and all that. Also, couldn't there be problems? It might not be the best idea to be the owner of a first gen one. How do you all know the scarlet will be what you want it to be? Or at the same price?

Sorry for the off topic-ness.
