~ A Little Mouth to Feed ~ SLAMDANCE,TORONTO AFTER DARK, etc.

Whoa, congrats Jack! Had to look the festival up, but it seems like it's a big one :)
According to Chris Gore's "Film Festival Survival Guide" book, Slamdance ranks as one of the top 10 film festivals in the world (IIRC).

To say that we're happy about this would be a massive understatement.

Congratulations! You deserve it.

I've seen three of your films and they were all pretty high quality -- in form and content.

Question #1

How do you intend to use this festival acceptance, and trip to further your career and future projects? Will you be looking for contacts at the festival, in terms of representation or distribution?

Congrats! That has to be one amazing phone call to get!
Yes. I'm not proud but there were 4 letter words screamed into the phone on my end.

Some how. I think shorts programmer Paul Sbrizzi (pcitured) can handle a few f-bombs though :)

According to one source the films on the top of the shelf are the highest ranked ones in the selection process. Paul has personally seen 1000 of them

Holy mackerel that's a lot of films. I can only imagine the shelf next door at Sundance.

Oh, congrats man! I have a feature entered myself and can only dream of that kinda phone call ;)

Hey thanks guys. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the comments. Will catch up. 1st two days after I got called were spent panicking trying to find affordable lodgings in Park City and funds for the trip.

Answer: You can't find lodgings in Park City at this point. Not for less than $300 a night and I have to book for 9 days because I don't know when I'm screening and if I wait to book til then I'll really be SOL. So you have to book in Salt Lake City. I got a deal. More on that Later.

Then the last two days have been finishing this teaser trailer, getting the video to embed and play right on Motion Box, Vimeo and Exposure Room. I'll hit Youtube Next.

Brandon - yes there's things planned for hopefully maximizing potential opportunities, will hopefully get to that soon. Going to crash now since I've been working on all this stuff straight through since early yesterday morning.

Anyway updated the first post with the teaser trailer and the roughed in poster which I'll post here as well. Decided to go simple with the poster for reasons that, again, I'll get into later, sometime this weekend. :)

Good for you Jack. Slamdance is one of the most difficult fests to get into and it is well deserved. Love the trailer.

Way to go, Jack! "A Little Mouth To Feed" rules!

I sent Teacher's Pet into Slamdance, and I'm waiting for that same call. Hopefully, we can party down in Park City together.

That would be awesome to see you guys there, it would be a DVXuser power showing.

Sundance gets 5K shorts a year for 80 - 90 slots. Slam dance gets between 3.5-4K, 70-75% of what Sundance gets for about the same number of slots.

Regarding features, Alveraz, I think they get about the same but Slamdance screens less, so chances are harder there and I hear you have to be a first time feature filmmaker I think for Slamdance.
