How to record out to the hvx from final cut?

I seem to remember being able to record HD video out from FCP to the HVX.
Correct me if I am wrong.
And if it is possible please explain because I can not figure it out.

cheers

Yes it's possible. Put the HVX in MCR mode, turn off the thumbnails, and "print to video" from FCP. Make sure the camera's recording format matches the FCP sequence's format.

When I put my HVX200A in MCR mode I just get a plain blue screen with the normal display settings. I don't get any thumbnails?

I found this post because I'm trying to record via firewire into the HVX onto TAPE.

My client wants the final on miniDV. Is this possible?

GOT IT!!!

I have been killing my head on this for a few hours now!

I triple checked every single menu on the camera 3 times which makes it like 100! (or at least it felt like it)

Finally! I found the answer. The solution was inside Final Cut Pro.....

Since there weren't any more menus or settings I could check on the camera I decided to go through each and every single item in all menus of FCP.

When I got to the "View" Menu there was something all the way at the bottom called "External Video" I went in there and selected "All Frames" then I went down 2 more items and selected "Video Playback" and
in there I selected "Apple FireWire DVCPRO NTSC (720 x 480) and Walah!!! The picture showed on my camera!

Was I ever happy! Thanks for your time as well...

hi I've been trying to do the same thing that is playing my FCP segment and fire wire record into my HVX dv cam. The video shows up in the DV cam screen and I can hear audio but when I hit record on the HVX 200 I get no timecode code recording. so the dv cam is monitoring but not actually recordiing. I have all the FCP settings correct for output : "External Video", All frames and NTSC 720X480 DV firewire. some else said look in my manual. No good on that one. I followed it, any help would be helpful
thanks
