Mr. I, a film by Josh Chiara

She has hallucinations much more bizarre than Mr. I. I'm working on getting the feature length script finished, and then I want to start to get in into production.

Whoa. I would have lost all interest in the piece if there was other hallucinations going on. The reason I thought Mr. I worked so well was the fact that he was the casually treated anomaly in her life. There was this twisted relationship between the two that, I believe, would get totally lost if he was just another bit of craziness. My two cents anyway.

Here's my review.
Everything about Mr. I was great. The mood was great and his voice creepy. I found the concept to be great fun when we see just how used to Mr. I the character of Abby has become. The “f*ck you” line was done really well. The film was well shot, though distractingly muddy in the color tones.

Sadly, my biggest issue is the script, which then falls onto the actors. Every time the there was an extended dialogue scene the film felt a little drug on. I’m especially not fond of the cop or her explanation of what lead her to Noah at the end. Both scenes were kind of awkward in their staging. I felt like we didn’t need to see/hear her explain it all.

The reason I’m so comfortable being so blunt is because I really got sucked in by your concept. Really really dug Mr. I. Just thought the script put too much emphasis on the “mystery of the sister’s death” angle.

Liked the music, very “Danny the Dog.”

Hey, I should have dropped by sooner, but I'm slow. Sorry.

Anyway, just wanted to say that, although I had some problems with this one and it didn't get my highest rating, I still thought this was pretty awesome.

The concept, at least as I initially understood it, was maybe the best of the fest and I think definitely has the most potential.

Like I said, in the end it wasn't my favorite, but...
The first minute of this film was, in my opinion, by far the best of the fest. I was so drawn in and excited to see where you'd take us. The grading was fantastic... Everything, really, was just great.

I ended up not loving the acting, but the opening VO? Perfect. "And he lies." Such a cool way to open a film. LOVE it! Can't say enough about the first minute. I was staring at my screen thinking this has to be first place. This is freaking fantastic. It dropped off for me after the one minute mark, but still this is one of the most memorable of the fest for me and I'd LOVE to see what more you'd do with this.
