profound pictures presents "Teacher's Pet"

OK to add some actual criticism, which I totally forgot by the end because I was lost. On the opening title at about 0.35 when the teacher is walking into school - the foley used for footsteps sounds like Grandmas slippers walking on a perfectly clean painted concrete floor. Can you please record some actual foley to fit to make it more natural.

Strapping the heels on the wife as I type...;)

What a great film!! I don't think I have anything negative to say at all (apart from agreeing with an earlier comment about the first CU of the teacher). The script was very well written, full of sexual innuendo, and completely needed the voice over which was well executed. The pacing was good, cinematography and production value were great, as was the score.
I really enjoyed the acting, not just by the kids (who were excellent) but also by the teacher. I think her sexy, sinister delivery was completely called for and those who were looking for a sweeter, "more teacherly" character were looking for the wrong thing.
Congratulations - one of the best in the fest.:thumbup:

Jayzus! What a superb little gem this is. Your lead kid is ready for prime time. VO delivery was incredible and his on-screen acting great. Great score and great camera work.

I am hot for this teacher too. She can eat gerbils in my bed any time :)

Thank you for your comments.. It means a lot coming from someone as talented as you... If you ever are on this side of country...Look us up!

As for the Gerbils in bed.... Might wanna call Richard Gere... LOL

good use of VO (I'm not usually a fan of VO) - sure didn't see that coming, the implied relationship made me a little uncomfortable in light of recent real life teacher-student news items, wasn't sure where it was going, so I guess you nailed it. the hottie teacher helped.

This is definitely in the vein of a true Twilight Zone. It was slightly predictable towards the end, but I loved the double meaning of the title of your film. If you were to 'cut' right to the point of.... 'end class', 'grabs pet', 'teacher bashes and eats', and straight to 'window monologue' it would really push it through and leave the audience in a wtf state of mind.

but alas, congrats on entering and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your films in the future.

good film! loved the look of it. great colors, lighting, blocking, really well done! the kid's acting was amazing too! story is okay, good use of innuendo. the teacher was okay, she is beautiful but she didnt come off as a teacher in the sense that she lacked that high amount of confidence a teacher always seems to have.

the kid was good though, he even did amazing voice overs. great find there! well done!

Ha ha. Thanks Mark. That's a great compliment considering the work you produce. Cheers.

Thanks. It's funny when you're glad she kills the gp instead of the other thing. I guess either way it's uncomfortable. Thanks for watching.

You are one of the first to say it was predictable. If we cut right to all those points, I think we would cut out most of the movie. Ha ha

Thanks for taking the time to critique. Every opinion counts.

Yeah, a lot of comments on the teacher. That one's on me. I'm working on being a better actor's director. All in due time, I suppose.

Thanks for the technical comments. It's awesome to hear things about the production value from members here. I guess all the hours lost surfing here may have done some good after all. Gracias.

Wow. Ummm. It's definitely Twilight Zone.

Seriously, it's weird, but it's excellent. It's a tight little short and well executed, and it fits the theme very well. Nice work.

Thanks JC, we wanted to do a story that stood out rather than your typical type story... By your reaction. Looks like we chose the right one....

Just wanted to add that I too really enjoyed this film, of course i fell into thinking there was something else going on (apart from guinea pig eating) however i utterly accept that if my teacher looked that hot i would probably feed her my little brother never mind a guinea pig!

In fact i think any film with a really hot teacher would probably win a high vote from me! Okay er thats enough of that hehe.

Seriously, excellently produced, well directed and acted. A very slick film, with an excellent twist - weird and wonderfully weird leaving us to wondering and perhaps hoping for more!

Ha ha. Note to self, put hot teacher somewhere in every film I make.

Thanks for the compliments. Leaving the viewer wondering is usually a good thing.

Really liked this one.. Very solid production value all around. Loved the cinematography, acting and music. That ending cue was great with the boy looking out the window. Nice work by Erez Henya. I can only think of compliments for this one. It fits so well into the twilight fest theme and as a short film in general; great twist as well! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more work from you, Steve.

Thanks for watching. I appreciate the comments.

A great coming of age film. Warms the heart with the golden glow of innocence.

Well done. I think the music and that sickly dependent look on CJ Doss’s face land the film. I had a decent idea of where the film was heading, but that didn’t spoil it. If anything, it make me appreciate the set up all the more.

The acting was well enough. Easily the best child acting this fest. It was really great to see the kids joining in on the macabre rather than merely playing victims (though the characters are without a doubt victims).

There’s not much more to say. It’s in my top five.

Thanks for the review and kind words, Bryce. Erez did a wonderful job with the score. CJ, the lead, is a terrific actor. His resume is pretty impressive, but his ego is non-existant. I think he's got a real future when someone takes notice. He made my job easy.
