Where can I buy extra Battery for 200a?!?!?!

Well, I just bought two batteries through ebay. Even though there are many batteries that are 5400mah and 7.2v, the HVX uses CGA-54. My guess is that those who had bad experiences with ebay batteries didn't a the CGA-54 type and those that did had reasonable well experiences (though I could be wrong myself). But I'll let you all know what happens.

Just to update you all on my experience on buying batteries at ebay, I've bought two and so far after 2 weeks they work great! No battery life jumps, no problem with charging, no issue on the fit, nothing at all. My deal came out to $47 for two batteries including shipping. I figure I just throw this out there just in case if anybody is cautious.

good point, I'll put it this way, I haven't noticed any difference in run time with these batteries compared to the factory batteries. I'll get back to you when I place a timer next the camera.

Which batts on eBay?

Which batts on eBay?

So, I see a $15 battery
and a $40 battery
and a $25 battery.

Which vendor?

straight from hong kong?

Thanks!

So is the consensus that the quality of the eBay batteries is roughly the same as the DVXuser batteries? From what I'm reading they're both 5600 mAh and a little loose in the fitting. The only difference I seem to see is that the eBay batteries are about half the cost of the DVXusers, with twice as long a warranty. Is there something I'm missing about the DVXuser batteries?

Thanks,

Clint

On days when I'm running both cameras (HVX200's) on tripods I use Anton Bauer Elipz 10K bats...

Full on these are the best batteries for this camera - if weight isn't a problem, ie on a tripod. Even handheld, with one of these stuck to the base the cam may weigh more, but it steadies out the shot.

I just bought 4 CGA-D54 batteries from these guys and they've been working fine:

And, I'd be willing to bet that the cells used in these types of batteries don't come from that many different sources. I've been buying cheapo camcorder batteries for YEARS and I've never had a problem with them. I'm guessing that they are ALL basically the SAME cells and casing and you shouldn't have to pay more than $25. or $30. for a CGA-D54 battery.

Um...your link sends me to an article entitled:

"Oregon school says 4 confessed to Obama effigy"

Are you saying you bought the batteries from someone among those 4 people? ;)

LMAO!

Here I was reading this entire thread, absorbing the great info by many and then...

WHAM!

4 confessed to Obama effigy.

Funny stuff.

It can be hit or miss. either way, it's 1/3 of the price of the pannasonic. I bought some 25 dollar ones and had mixed success and after a year.. all were dead, but it's still better than paying a 120 bucks for a panny one.
