Is there a new HPX500 coming out?

I recently spoke with a person who owned an HPX500. He said to hold out a few months before purchasing because Panasonic is coming out with a new one.

Is this true?

No idea if this is true or not, but would be interested to hear what the new version has changed.

I would guess that it would not cost $8,000 if it was to be true.

Waiting for new models is not a good practice as the manufacturers often announce well before availability.

Panasonic is very good about not announcing really early, but still, holding off on a purchase due to a rumor about a new model only works if you were not going to upgrade anyway.

Sorry but thats a "SHOW STOPPER" for me. Lasers in the eyes perform much better in low light than lasers on the head.

seriously no new version. Pana you seem to be dragging your feet. every one was disappointed at Nab 08 that there was not really any new cameras.

Seriously we showed the HPX3700, the HPX2700, the HPX170 and the HMC150. I guess someone could construe that as no new cameras but I think we showed 4 new cameras by my count.
