Arri D-20 Look on HVX200

what do you mean by Arri look? Are you talking about the Arriflex film cameras, because the look of a Arri camera doesn't depend on the camera, it depends on the filmstock used with the camera. In other words there is no Arriflex look but you could probably say for example you tried to emulate the look of the Vision200 filmstock or whatever....
 
Exactly as Cordvision said, a bolex to an arri to a pani don't 'look' different.

Okay, the bolex doesn't have crystal sync, so it never is true 24...but that aside, the "film" look is achieved through the use of film stock. TriX Reversal, Vision200, what-have-you. Depth of Field can be achieved through using 35mm adapters.

It was an .AVI and a lot of browsers don't like .avi so right click the link, click "Save Target As" then select a location . . big file 55.4 Mb but a nice piece. Not a fan of handheld action BUT rest assured that this sure would have been BAD had it been HDV material. Looked close enough to me.

He might be referring to the Arriflex D-20 digital camera.
 
I have not scene your film yet so I cannot comment on its quality.... BUT I have seen the Arri D20 promotional DVD they sent out and that footy looks horrible. I was so upset that arri would show that dvd, that I wanted to write them a letter and have them let me shoot with the camera for one week so they could at least have some decent looking footage for the promotion dvd.

Yuck. I hope since then they have made a new one that might make the camera look good. :(

You started this threat almost a year ago and now you post STILLS?

Also, what did you do to get the "Arri" look? Tweaked the HVX or did some post work?
Don´t want to be an a**, but I can see nothing special here...
