HMC150 Wobble Fix

unless your image shifts when manual focusing- I would imagine no. This seems to be limited to 170 models.

  1. Zoom in full telephoto
  2. swicth to manual focus
  3. focus back an forth
  4. check your LCD and see if the frame "jumps" around
If its the gap you're speaking of, all panny models have this. They have a small ammount of play so if you smack your lens into something it wont screw up the internals.

I don't believe the 150 exhibits the 170 wobble issue.

The rental house here locally has a 150 and the lens is fine.

Is this lens breathing you guys are talking about? - some fujinon lens exhibit this too so I'm used to seeing it ;)

I don't own one yet. I was hoping the issue would be resolved first. I had read posts from people experiencing wobble on the HMC150, but it must not be as severe as the HPX170. Panasonic is fixing existing 170 cameras and modifying future 170 cameras. I was just wondering if they were doing the same to the HMC150. I guess not, if the problem isn't as bad. I would like to get an HMC150 eventually.

As I understand it if you leave the OIS on while using a tripod you may see some image movemment.

I tested my camera and the lens did not "flex" too much and my images never moved when I manual focused with the OIS turned off.
I think this is more of a 170 issue...

This issue has been fixed by Panasonic and we have the corrected models in stock.

Just to be clear...was there even an issue with the 150? and has it been fixed? ...or are you refering to the 170?

There was an issue with both the 150 and the 170. It has been fixed and we have fresh stock with the fix already done.

Andrew- this is the first we have heard of an issue w/ the 150 (at least on DVXuser). Before you get alot of HMC users all stressed out- has this been confirmed by Panasonic?

I thought this was exclusive to the 170 so I have not tested my camera for this. The only thing Panasonic has confirmed on the 150 is re: the shock mount design which is not supposed to be "an issue". Are you saying the 150 has the image shift during manual focus like on the 170?

Darnet , First there was not an issue now there is one with the hmc 150. In another thread , Rob Meyers from Australia, Panasonic ,says that the AUstralian version is getting a mod.
My camera is already underway .Ordered it 2 weeks ago from B&H.
Im in South America so gettin it back to US and home again is going to cost me .
I have paid hard earned money Panasonic, like others here. You would expect that this day in age,big companies would test their products before they give the Ok the start production.
Keeping my fingers crossed that mine doesn't have the issue are "non- issue" as others have called it.
But I have to say nobody that has posted footage of the hmc 150 reported there to be a lens wobble issue with the 150.
I'll have to wait and see when I get mine :(

:(

slow down there :) most HMC users here have not found any issues. I would wait to hear some response by Jan C. or Barry before getting nervous. I myself will test when I get home.
