35mm adapter rig photos

I must see a G35 setup!

It's not really that different from any of the previous except that is lacks a flip function. It's easier to configure a rig for the G35 than for most of the flipping adapters nowadays in that you don't have to worry about it. Then again, in post... you do have to worry about it!

Anyway... look for some earlier Brevis setups to get an idea of how that would look on your rig.

Anyone got shots of an EX3/35mm adapter setup?

Here's a Letus Extreme setup with the EX-3 by Philip Bloom. Things would look similar with the other adapters as well.

Just out of curiosity, is there a technical reason for the ex3's and xl2's to have the back of the camera on an angle like that? or is it purely cosmetic?

(Random question, I know haha)

Its meant so you can rest the camera on your shoulder. When I tested out the EX-3 though, I did not find it to work very well though.

They do work well. It's just a personal preference to comfort and feel. These aren't like ENG shoulder pads anyway! Personally, I prefer a shoulder pad to these systems anyway. But the idea isn't that bad!

Just think, in 2010, when we all have Scarlets and Epics, we are going to look at these rigs and laugh. Just like Philip's EX3 rig, my 170 with the Letus and a 105mm 2.8 and a matte box is so long it look like a bazooka. Cool technology but very Rube Goldberg.

Not to mention 2045, when we will plug our finger into a neural network to transmit the content captured by our eyes.

Actually I don't know based on the renderings when you really start to add the good stuff to the scarlet and epic they looks pretty long, big and probably heavy.

Hey Ecking:

Have you checked the size scale of the brain though? These things are tiny.

Dan

Yeah but that tiny brain alone is 3+ pounds and if you look at the comparison to the red one in the pictures, it's almost as long without rails or drives, etc on it. I think that was just the brain, the mote, and the battery.

Do you guys need to break it down to stops per pound? Or just sheer resolution? I have a feeling that even with a brick and HDD vs small Panasonic batteries and P2 cards it still wins, and that it does so against anything else out there outfitted with the same basic gear.

Here's my rig.

Panasonic HPX171
SGpro r3 with canon FD mount
Indirails XVSM
Cheap indian follow focus...

I am currently looking for a good but relatively cheap mattebox.
Anyone got any tips?

Just complete the set and get the either the indimatte or the indian mattebox if you're on a budget, both work and are pretty much the same product.

Nice simple rig. I have to admit, it's almost a relief to look at a non-flipped setup. For some reason, their simpler nature make them look more solid.

How do you like the SGpro r3 with an HPX171?

Whare can I buy/see the indian mattebox?

I love it! It's almost like the camera was built for 35mm adapters. Never felt that I needed a flip for the adapter since I can flip the LCD and flipping in post is as easy as 1-2-3 :)
