42 minutes on P2

Hey guys,
Finally getting to start working with my 16GB P2 for the first time. I chose 720/24 and the camera is only saying I can get 42minutes on that setting. I go with the 720/30p and I go down to 34 minutes. I was thinking I had read that I could get over an hour on a 16GB card... am I doing something else wrong... some other menu option?

16 minutes of 720/60p on a 16gb P2??? Am I reading that right? Sorry, I don't have an HVX, but I'm thinking of getting one.
 
Yup... about a minute/Gigabyte for non-native HD modes (all 1080, and all 720p60 or 720p "over 60"). About 2 min per gig for 720pN30, 2.5 minutes per gig with 720pN24; about 38 minutes per gig with the 2FPS hack. in native mode.

DVCPro50 gets you about 2 minutes per gig; DVCPro 25 (DV) gets you about 4 minutes per gig.
 
I wonder what will happen to firestore once the 64 cards hit. Moreso when we get up to 128 and 256. I've used firestore before, and while it does work, it's a bit clunky and makes me really nervous. I used 4 on my last shoot and one went a bit wonky. Everything recorded fine but it wouldn't mount on my computer. The rental place figured it out and are fedexing my footage as we speak. With two 64 gig cards the idea of using a firestore seems a bit silly. Unless they cut their prices in half they will be in trouble.
 
Its actually more like 42.5 minutes in 24PN...Two 16GB cards give 85 minutes.

Probably doesn't matter to most. In fact, it doesn't really make a difference to me either.
