I'll take the girl, er uh the camera, no wait... damn, I'm confused. I love em both!

wish there was a release date announced already, sorta feels like a little kid that knows x-mas is coming soon but nobody ever told him what the exact date was. LOL
 
Count on September 30th, and if it comes earlier it'll be a surprise. But no date has been confirmed within September that I know of.
 
Thanks Barry. I read somewhere around here that mid sept was the expected date but I figured that was someone's guestimate.
 
It may very well turn out to be mid September too. But since no date has been announced, I'm just taking the "safest" course in saying "don't expect it before the 30th, and if you do get it before the 30th then that's a happy surprise."

If you own an HVX200, you can easily convince her this one is much cheaper... Just go for the size thing!

"See? This one is much smaller... Smaller is cheaper!"

Common consumer misconceptions are great for "the wife problem" ...

The 5 year warranty is available on every camera in their country of origin. So if in the US and you buy a US product, it will be 5 years in the US. If in the Netherlands then your camera should come from a vendor in the Netherlands and your 5 year warranty is in the Netherlands. And so forth. It truly is an unheard of warranty for this size and cost of camera.

Wait till you play with the camera a bit, it is like playing with a new toy and discovering that it is even cooler than you originally thought. I checked in with the guy setting up the allocations and every dealer that has them on order will get some by the end of the month of September. They should start to hit around the 24th or so.

Thanks for the kind words. Those video things always feel a little weird when you are doing them. I will be at DV Expo in LA this year, so I will see some of you there.
