SD lens For Sale

I have a Canon YJ18x9 2/3" lens up for sale. This is an internal focus lens. I have owned this lens for 5 or so years but it has seen limited use on jobs with a second camera. All functions work and glass is clean with no scratches. Image is sharp, colors render well and zoom is smooth with no sticky spots. This lens is a huge improvement (much sharper) over the older non IF lenses that some of you guys are picking up cheap and using on your 500's. I'm asking $900 and can post pics if there is interest.
Thanks!

I would like to see the different lenses compared as the YJ prefix is the lowest part of the 2/3" Canon line.

Not to say it not sharp, but seeing its output from a 500 would be the best way to convince me as a lot of the "older" lenses have been the "J" prefix which is the broadcast Canon line.

I own and have used many "broadcast" and "industrial" lenses. Canon's YJ lenses fall into the industrial line. I feel that the major differences between the two lines is the feel of the lens in your hand, the sensitivity of the zoom, and features like being able to set end and start points (which I never use anyway). I have had this lens and my 10k Fuji broadcast lens on the same shoot and have not been able to discern the difference in the images, keep in mind these were SD images. That being said, I shoot alot of handheld and the "feel" of the broadcast line of lenses is much nicer. A solid build, nice servos etc. But the look? Really the same as the industrial lenses. As far as comparisons to the J line, I have used that 8x6 lens that has been getting alot of talk on this site. To me, that lens is a bit of a dog. It doesn't do wide OR long particularly well and It never looked all that sharp to me. The 15x8 and other telephoto lenses are much better, I feel that the images of this lens hold up to those models. Anyway, here are pics of my YJ18x9. Thanks for looking

So do the newer ones. The YJ is the professional series and may not do so well on your 500, but definitely try it, record it and post some pics.
