Alternatives to the Steadicam Merlin?

Hi, the steadicam merlin looks awesome but the price is waay too high! (unless someone has found it for less than $700)

I was wondering if there were any "decent" alternatives to the steadicam merlin (i'm not looking for any miracles here, just a decent unit that works well for a reasonable price).



and this is unrelated but i was wondering what languages are included in the menu for the USA model of the XH-A1.

You can always make a DIY merlin. I made one for about $5 in hardware using 3/4" plywood and a Sima quick connect head. YouTube has a great DIY merlin. Check out the video. That's what I based mine off of. Works slick as snot.
