well I need to shoot a 5-6 minute short that is based on a street fight. I dont own a hx-a1, just a hv20, but i will RENT a hx-a1 to shoot since it seems to be a better overall camera obviously.

I am trying to go for a very specific look.
If i would to pick 2 fiight scenes from movies to get the look i want it would be:
1. bourne supremacy fight scene (with the algerian dude)
i want to replicate the close range shots and the look of the movement. I think the shutter speed was changed.

2. Saving private ryan....the shutter speed was changed here, and every motion just looks alot more cinematic, especially for fights. I also like the color of the movie, so hopefully i will be able to use magic bullet for this? or maybe just CC in vegas.

so...does anyone have a clip with the shutter speed changed to be more choppy, 24p, and color graded to be "gritty" ie: blue-grayish ?????

hope yall can help!! and i hope to show the finished product here in a few weeks :)

Yes, very much high shutter speeds will give you that staccato cadence you are talking about. (Check "Gladiator" fight scenes too.) But you're going to need to be prepared to loose a lot of light. Are the fight scene external day time?

I personally don't have any clips, but if you do a search for "high shutter speed" there are several threads discussing the same concept of what you're trying to achieve.

Use a higher shutter speed for the look you are after.

CC in post and you're all good.
