Is it possible to shoot 29.97fps(NTSC)mode with a Pal xh-a1

Is there any way to switch to ntsc mode and shoot with 30fps with the xh-a1?

On a PAL camera? No. But you can have the came upgraded which will make it PAL?NTSC switchable and then you can.

if its a firmware upgrade there must be a hack online somewhere

I asked Canon Australia to have my PAL model upgraded to both formats and I was quoted $700. I told them no thanks and bought a Japanese HV30 on e-bay for $923

well my idea is that i will shoot music videos at ntsc 30 fps, then play it back on the comp at pal 25fps for that subtle slomo effect (x1.2), i think this would work nice
