HVX Music Video - The cutest one I've ever made!!

i think the style of this is very interesting, and you pulled it off well. is the movement of the camera done on-set or is it a post effect? it looks too smooth and too precise to be done by hand when shooting.

So that is what she would look like in real life... interesting...

He already answered this: it was done in AE (and I think it was a great idea)

Very nice music video, and like others have stated, you successfully captured the "mood" of the tunes. That's the most important thing in music vids, if you ask me. Great job.

Haa Haa Highschool feel it allover.
Who is posting the lyrics?

Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey

Come on sing along I know you know the lyrics!

Hey hey hey

Excellent music video! You all did a great job.
I'll have that tune (and it's video) in my head all day. ...Which is a good thing.

Thank you. :)

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. I'm really happy people are digging this video.

Thanks! And I'm glad to see you thought the post camera movements were effective. It was one of the harder decisions I had to make in the edit process. Without it, the video looked too static. However, with the movement, I run the risk of it looking "fake". I like the movements, but they could have been made to look more authentic and real. That's something I gotta work on in the future.

Thanks for the awesome feedback.

Don't forget to vote!! Thanks!

Great Job, reminds me a bit of a video I'm currently editing.

Maybe if you are going to try something with the camera movement again, Try shooting some tape X's on a wall with a hand held camera. Then track that footage and apply its movement to the final edit so it has a more organic / hand held feel to the movement.

Thanks Arson... looking forward to seeing the video you're working on.
I actually did try tracking a wall marker filmed hand-held, but I found the movement too hectic/busy for the video. I should have tried a few more variations, filming the marker with a bit more steadiness... however I decided the fluid AE wiggle gave a more pleasant effect to the video. To those who do not know that AE effect (ie most of the people who have seen the video) it looks like unique camera movement, almost as if the camera is floating. It could be a hit or miss sometimes... but I think im ok with how it turned out.

Good thinking though... that's definitely the type of thinking one needs to have when doing these sorts of post FX. I once did some FX for another music video where I used a hand-held effect on some stills to make them look like they were shot on a motion picture film camera. I used that very same techinique of tracking a wall-marker and then applying the coordinates to the stills. It worked beautifully for that video.

i thought the wiggle was perfect, and totally needed. it really made the video that much more imo.
