Hello. I'm going post some details here and there for the adapter I'm building that's going to help those who want a quality adapter at an affordable price. When I say affordable I mean no more than $300.00. Achromats are everywhere these days. You can buy them from Wayne or Cinevate or Ebay. I'm currently using the Cine Achromat from India, but I have another one that I believe is going to be much better. Custom made with no abberatoins or distortion, but I have to wait to get the extra dough for it, that's why this Cine Macro will work for now.

I'm going to post a video at the end when it's finished on how to put it together. Plus all the parts will be available without having to go the bay route. Hopefully anyway. So here's the first portion to give you an idea. The case measures at 4.6"x4.6"...very petite so it won't be so much to lug around.

Everything is uprezzed to 720p to reduce compression. D/L it and scale the window down to 480p.

UPDATES*****

Here are pics of the GG and motor together. I will be using two types of GG here. The other hasn't been cut to size. The GG is only 3.5inches in diameter. Since you can change it in under a minute, I wanted two different kinds. Don't know exactly how the two will differ, but from the look, one is extremely bright and "eh okay" bokeh and the other is not as bright, but the bokeh is top notch. You can see just by holding a lens up to it.

Other pics are the "mounts". It will connect to the box. These rings will hold a small tube that will connect to the Nikon Br-3 adapter. It will have 4screws that will hold the tube in place, like the Letus. When you loosen the screws, you can move the tube back and forth, giving the ability to adjust back focus. You can also move the GG on the motor as well, but I wanted to be able without having to take apart the house

Updates******

Got back from the first build. Went good. I've posted some pics. I have to raise the box up by half inch so it's high enough for the camera. So far, so good. I got my Nikon Mount in yesterday and now have the measurements for David. I also got a really cool mount for the motor by going to this hobbie shop nearby. Gotta email some guy in Illinois to make some more. There was only 3 avail and they were wood. I might have David the laser guy cut them. See which one is easier. I got a battery back that fits 4 AAA with a switch and mounted it on top. Saves me from having to get a switch and it looks nice on top. Here are the pics.

Updates******

I received my mount from David which will allow the backfocus adjustment. Yippy! I ordered the wrong step-up ring so that sucked. I'm gonna go to ritz and a local camera shop around here and see if they will trade seeing how it's brand new and all.
The last and final piece I sort of have, but ordered a new one to replace it. It's the motor mount. I accidentally cut the wrong side off and the guy who I ordered from is taking forever to ship. I can still mount the motor, I just want the better piece to finish it up. I said in my previous update that I might have scratched the GG too much possibly causing it to flicker, but no telling until I I actually shoot some footage. If they trade my ring tomorrow I'll probalby have it built and shoot some footage this weekend....maybe...I have the next 4 days off. Hurricane Fay is being a ***** and won't stop raining. It's only moving 2mph's across Florida. But I won't let that stop me any.

Very interesting! I've been wanting to build one and this would be awesome. I was planning on going static, but vibrating would be just fantastic at that price. I know its a little early and that you probably will, but when you get this together please do post some footage.

Stuff coming in the mail....might be here today?
Don't worry though...I'll definitely make it happen.
I did however stumble across a grainless focus screen.
Check the focus screen forum in just a bit.

" grainless focus screen" How awesome. Yes! Can't wait to see what you found.

Nah, not really any progress. The parts are delayed but I'm still good to go once they arrive. All in good time mate.

And pappas...I may have mislead about the grainless focus screen. The screen I mentioned won't be in this model, but it would work in a static one. I just happen to run across it and it looked good.

Though, the GG I'm using in this will be good as well, just not static good.

I hate to sound like I'm putting you on the spot/bugging the S**t out of you about this, but from that initial post it sounded like you had a promising thing going on, and I'd hate to see you not complete the project.

Hey, dont worry...it's for my own use so I have to finish this project. I actually got some parts in the mail today...yay!!

I just have to order the House and it's to the lab to build. I'll post pictures of my GG and parts in a bit.

This will 100% be built, just have to make sure I pay my bills first.

I dont know if any of you have seen this, but this guy over at HV20.com makes adapters with amazing quality for around $200, I dont' know if its ever been tested on bigger cameras.

Also, Daniel has some amazing products and tutorials over at his site if you havent checked that out, It's where I learned to build my vibrating adapter for around $160.
