First Annual Official DVXuser DVXFest International Film Festival Screening

Or "Spinal Tap", or "Casablanca", "Gone With the Wind", many many important movies... but I am doing a sweep of all hits, slowly but surely I am getting it all in.
You have to remember I was in Argentina for 17 years... though that's where I fell in love with the industry and the glorification of the United States with good positive messages, inspirational messages... then out of the friggin' blue, my Dad told us that he had an offer for a promotion in the United States and he took it. I was stocked! But instead of California we went to Florida... but here I am... WHOA! Where did that come from?!? hehe

Forget that Casablanca and Gone with the Wind poo poo, you NEED to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

(Am I the only one that actually types "poo poo" instead actual curse words?)

you mess me up when you type that, b/c I read it as the actual word that it's supposed to be censoring and then your grammar is messed up...

Later,
Jason

I think I actually just recently wrote out "poo" at the end of one of my posts.
Couldn't had been more than 15min ago.

Couldn't agree more, that movie is a classic. I laugh every time I watch it because it is so ridiculously funny. Knee! Oh, and yes, you are the only one who doesn't type out the curse words.

Really? So when I type "****" you actually see it? That's pretty sweet. I feel ashamed, because only recently did I discover that the board automatically censors that word to poo poo. I also know that one of the letters in "****" gets blanked out. Are there any other censors I should know about?

EDIT: I don't care if I should or shouldn't know about them, I want to know ALL of them! Bwahahahaha! Also, what else can you see in each post that the rest of u can't?

A couple various and sundry things ...

1) Still making plans for the after-party. Stay tuned but plan on hanging with the monsters when 10:00 hits and the official festival is over.

2) We're planning a barbecue at Monster Shack West (Luis's house) which is only 10 minutes from Hollywood and, thus, convenient. We will be putting together a map and more details so, again, stay tuned.

3) Larry R. will be doing the webcast and John LaBonney will be the Master of Ceremonies. We want to make the webcast as entertaining as possible so we need some attending members to volunteer to do some shooting at the venue (random shots, impromptu interviews etc.). We'll have a station with FCP that we'll use to do quick edits so you can give the clips to Larry (who will then interleave them during the webcast). So please volunteer to do a little shooting shooters!

4) We would like to have a live chat going for those watching the webcast. LaBonney and Larry will be able to interact with you during the event. LaBonney and Larry will hopefully be able to do some commentary and maybe even interviews during the webcast. Anybody have thoughts as to the best all-purpose chat room to use for the watchers?

Hey guys,
We're looking for someone to kind of cover the event with a camera. Give interviews, talk to people, show the event, etc. for promotional uses that dvxuser can use in the future.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Tim.

YEA! Just a few lights to expose for the HVX's grain and make it interesting, then interviews with a hand-held mic and an Oktaba on the Camera for ambiance. A little LED on-Camera light on a Noga arm would be perfect then. I'd totally want to see a behind the scenes and event coverage that embarrassed the stuff from FreshDV... I could have hosted it with someone else if I were there... all I would have needed would have been the light and hand-held mic, but I bet that would have come up easily from someone else. Then we add a section to DVXuser for podcasts and all of that stuff, then we take over the world.

Make that two synced HVX's with FS-100's, I mean that should be easy to conjure up with a few days for us. Also need two Camera Op's. And Jarred can produce from the bar.

Wicked! That sounds pretty cool.
John, looks like you're going to be busy.

Hey guys, we're going to keep the chat going here on DVXUSER instead of a chatroom. The mods will set up a thread and everybody will hang there. That will allow us to have a permanent record, post pix etc. etc.

Double sweet! Will the podcast be here? Will it start before 6:00pm in order to work any bugs out?

So many questions... :D

Mike

Podcast will be served up from dvxfest.com. Link will be provided here.

Podcast in one window, screening thread in another. :)

Later,
Jason
