Hi all,

just wanted to invite you to check out the upcoming Showtime doc/comedy series I shot with the XH-A1, "I Can't Believe I'm Still Single," which premieres next Sunday, June 22, at 11:30 pm.

Most of the show was shot in available light, with a lite-panel mini deployed for night interiors and flexfill for some exterior shots. 24f mode throughout. Stock lens used for the majority of the shoot, Canon wide angle adapter for some scenes. Audio was captured with two Sennheiser EW100 lavs and a Sennheiser ME66 on a boom with a wireless transmitter, and recorded directly to camera.

Let me know what you think.

Is there a link on their site somewhere for a trailer? Did they edit it or did you? I knew they had built their own in house post facility...

Showtime doesn't have their show site up and running yet, but I imagine it will be soon, since the show starts on Sunday.

There's a couple of trailers up on youtube, but obviously, they're highly compressed and icky-looking, even with the "high quality" playback option. Here's the link:

I didn't edit the show; I think there were two or three editors that worked with the director to cut the 15 half-hour episodes.

We shot it last summer and Showtime bought it on the strength of a 15-minute teaser the director cut.

It was a three-week shoot, consisting mostly of the director/star, me, and a field producer traveling the west and east coasts in a car, filming the director's book tour and dating misadventures, plus interviewing random interesting people we'd meet along the way about love and relationships. It was a blast to work on, and will hopefully be a blast to watch.

Watched this on Showtime HD the other night. Pretty interesting verite' show, although I found the director/star to be a bit smug and annoying.

Good work Stas. :)

On a tech note, the show looked quite good for HD broadcast, which can so often be horribly over-compressed. A1 held up like a champ.
