Oversold: short film with Crissy Moran

Hello everyone... it's been a while, but I thought I would share something I've been working on. I have written a short film called "Oversold" - it is a modern day adaptation of the Hosea story found in the Old Testament in which God tells the prophet Hosea to marry a prostitute. In the original story, Hosea loses his wife back to the sex industry of his day - and God tells him to buy her back... this time making his wife forever free from her former lifestyle and bondage. All of which was a living metaphor that God loves us the same way... buying us back from the decisions we've made - offering us anew life... offering grace over karma. Oversold is essentially the same story just put in a modern context. In this case, the prophet is a pastor and the prostitute is a stripper from Las Vegas.

The exciting thing about this for me is that I have had the privilege of becoming friends with Crissy Moran. She plays the leading role of "Sophi" in this movie... this is her first appearance to the screen, if you will, since leaving the porn industry October of 2006. Thought I would share with you all a promo for the piece that we've made. I took some time to interview Crissy about Oversold while we were on the set in Las Vegas two weekends ago. Enjoy...

Oh... and yes... all shot on the Canon A1.

Looks good pastor!!!!!
Glad too see progressive thinking from your circle. Most "christians" in this country forget what a radical liberal the Christ was. Contrary to what the average republican would have you believe, Christianity is an inclusive religion not an exclusionary one. Christianity seeks to reconcile differences not drop bombs on them!!!!
Either way good work sir!!!

EDIT: CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!

looks great man.

i found this line funny: "god has provided the piece that you see" What about her plastic surgeons? :)

Really nice Pastor, care to share your setup for the interview shots. I'm really digging the look you achieved. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

First off... everyone can call me David. Pastors are people, too. :)

- You know... it was basically the DPs work, but straight forward. Just put her in a chair and got the lighting just so... we went through the same questions twice and the DP was up close on some, further out on others. Pretty basic. Glad you liked it! We shall see what the response is... I'd love for everyone to find us on YouTube and vote.

:)

Thanks!
