Remote follow focus for £150/$300

Well there are some photos of our electronics party on the last post. The working prototype will likely be a bundle of wire. once the prototype works, I will burn off another board, do it nice and neatly and then stick it in a case. The first few prototype cases will be hand cut but look exactly the same as the final one.

Then il get some fancy photos and videos done and then il be ready for ordering.

Give it a month and we will be there.

Quick status update.

The electronics is now working in the computer simulation. All we have to do is load it onto the chips (arriving tomorrow) and we will be finished.

Just got to do some durability tests first...

Any chance it'll be done by the end of this month? I got a shoot coming up that this unit would really be awesome for.

No chance of the production unit but I should definatly have a working prototype.

What kind of production are you using? I might be able to sort you out with a prototype for evaluation. You have to post it back afterwards though....

Peter, if you are really going to make these for £150, I would be interested in placing a bulk order for these. looking at the cost of other units, I would be able to make a hefty profit selling these.

Hi Shenton,

With all these new features, and the wireless, the price is no longer £150, but it is significantly cheaper than any other option out there, and is still an absolute bargain.

I plan on selling these exclusively myself, or very maybe through another company that expressed some interest a while ago, but th is is no where near confirmed, just a faint possibility.

Also I have added another feature that I forgot to mention:

Illuminated marking disk. It glows whitey blue, even colour all over. Kind of like glow in the dark.

If you can make this work at such a competitive price : Count me in! I can't wait to see if you'll be able to pull this off :)

There isnt one yet. Redrock made the mistake of taking reservations, im not doing the same thing :-D

I have the current waiting list, I think your already on it mr mental?

Also ive just added user selectable frequencies and bands. It has dip switches on it so you can select the channel you use if your using two next to each other.

Just had a pretty productive meeting with the coding guy.

We have just added user selectable frequncies/bands. There will be 6 bands that you can switch between incase of interferance (very unlikely with the encoding but still not impossible) or if your using two HoFo's at once.

Its colour coded, each band has a colour (like RC cars etc) and you switch between them with a button. There is an RGB LED on the top of the case that tells you waht frequency your using. You set the tx and rx to the same frequency and its done. It remembers the setting for next time as well.

Dude you totally need to start a list and start giving out numbers. I want #42 (even if it's really #3 or 4)

Edit: I really need to learn to read the whole page. Didn't ee the above post about the list...but I still want #42...just paint a nice 42 on the unit before you ship it out
