just curiosity, why has not panasonic updated the rebate offer on their web site? and why doesn't bh have it on their web site as a rebate offer?

Panasonic was off for a week + , I think they were doing their inventory. Trust me, the rebate is good till end of Sept 2008. And if you ask me, with the current state of the US Economy, the rebate is gonna stick around.
 
Hey guys,

The announcement isn't official yet. They are finishing up the marketing bulletins as we speak. However, he assured us that it is going to happen. Customarily, retailers don't want to advertise things that aren't in writing just in case they miss a detail or what have you.

Hi,

I haven't been off for a week, our computer system has been under change and turmoil for the last week though, ; -). I have been in Japan for a week and then there was that 4th of July thing in there. So the rebate has been extended and the site will be updated shortly.
