Had my m2 rods, cavision carbon fibre rods, (cant believe this as I only replaced one about six months ago) second cavision follow focus and the pelican case they were in - 1600, ripped this afternoon.

If the person who took it reads this, thanks. :kali:

Need them replaced ASAP. Any good deals on the new cavision follow focus and rods anywhere?
 
It's not only the value of the stuff, it's the hassle. I'm sorry you have to go through this. Strange, I didn't think there was much crime in Australia - I'm surprised it happened, I imagine it's rather uncommon over there... if it happened here in LA it would be par for the course. I know crimes like these are super uncommon in Japan - you can leave a bike on the street for days and it'll still be there when you come back - good luck trying something like that here in LA, wouldn't last a day (can you see I'm bitter - just had my $1200 bike stolen yesterday from in front of Starbucks in the 10 minutes it took to buy some water). And Australia is not too far from Japan in low crime, so this is super unfortunate. Good luck!
 
Well, according the Australian Institute of Criminology, there are about 30 recorded incidents of unlawful entry with intent per hour; about 22,000/mo. 59% in dwellings. According to LA crime statistics, there are about 6700/mo. LA has approximately half the population of Australia.

Not that numbers mean a thing to Noel; sorry to hear about it, man. Always sucks to have someone violate your life like that.
 
what I want to know is how the hell do a lot of pople here get their gear stolen, I just saw another post with mac laptop and lenses and whatnot stolen, how does this happen, I have been in a lot of shoots and I knock on wood I have never had any gear stolen, I always leave a person that I trust right where all the gear is at and I take a list of who has what so that I can collect, I just wonder how is it that gear gets stolen genarally
 
Cheers all. Im glad everything else usually in that case was not. So theres some light. And I am insured. Hassle to replace though.

It won't get stolen, but probably get picked up by the city and put into a bike lot where you can pick it up for a small fee. :D You are not allowed to park your bikes everywhere. They have special parking garages for bikes. You also have to register your bikes. Crazy huh?
