Who else is already thinking about their next entry?

I know the rules, you can't actually work on it yet. I do believe that you can use an existing script or idea as long as you can get it to fit the theme.
I never allow myself to get too far into thinking about it until I hear the announcement. I don't put pencil to paper until I know the theme.
I do allow myself to think about what kind of genre I might go into though.

I'm thinking pure Horror at the moment, even though that may change. I believe that I can adapt the Horror genre to any theme I'm given. We'll see.
I'm not expecting a Horror/Hallows Fest though. I'm expecting something different.

So... this is not a "What do you think the next Fest is going to be?" thread.

It's a... "Have you already decided on a direction?" kind of thread.

Just curious as to how some of the minds around here work.

Cheers,

Mike

Definitely thinking about entering the next Fest, it'll be my first one.

No clue on story or anything, but I have met some people down here around Hampton (I just moved in a month or two ago) who I've been doing some acting for, and I think I'll be able to talk them into producing something with me. At the very least, it'll be a learning experience, and hopefully a lot of fun.

Yeah, thinking about the next project already. I had some rough ideas for All Hollows fest, but didn't actually make an entry. Maybe it fits for the next fest. Would be horror/zombie/vampire... something like that. :D

I am so overwhelmed by the responses we are getting on our first entry that I am totally pumped up and ready to start writing as soon as they announce the next fest. I hope it is horror I have always wanted to make a horror film just never had a reason. I am hoping it is a zombie fest. Or Kung-Fu Zombies or something crazy like that. See ya all there.

Kinda. I have this scene where a guy punches a whale in the face. Now to just find a good story to put around it...

I like that zombiefest idea because I started a zombie project when i was in school and it fell through so i haven't really gotten the chance for a zombie movie but horror is on the brain right now.

As stated before, you can make a zombie film based on whatever theme they give you.

Now, back on topic.

I see someone stated that they already have a script. Interesting.
There's no way that I could have done the script for The Watchman before knowing the theme.

I don't have a script ready and then modify it slightly to fit the theme. I make my scripts based on the theme. Now the genre aspect is easy to mix and match.

One of the best films in our 60-second commercial contest, AdFest, was a zombie film.

At least one of the films in LoveFest was a zombie film.

Whatever the next fest is, odds are good that if you're creative you can find a way to make a zombie film that complies with the theme.

I am not thinking about story or genres yet, I typically wait until the fest is announced, but I am thinking about better time management and how and when to start looking for new equipment again.

I'm not thinking story yet, just genre. I had a lot of fun doing the hallway scene in The Watchman. I want to do more of that. :)
