Desperation - Andrew Kang

Posted the Frame Grabs...again. This time as a jpeg so i believe it now works.

Thanks Simon for the helping me post the grabs up.

Doing some final compression, last 5 compressions either went a hair above 50mb or 20mb below. Hope this is the final one.

Hopefully I'll be able to upload in about 20 min. After that, chug a pot of coffee and off to a 9 hour shift.

Have you uploaded? Sounds like you deserve a medal just for getting it finished on time. Looking forward to it.

Just finished uploading my film.

Wow...talk about an adrenaline rush.

Thank you guys for all your support and help. I hope you guys enjoy. Never thought I'd be this happy.

Getting through work today is another story...

Good job.

There were some pretty cool shots in that. The stabbing was pretty nice. Felt more realistic than a lot of movies that hit the theaters.

Rolling...reviewing...and shocked all-ready.

Gruesome in the beginning. Sucks for the girl. Very realistic though. The calls in between were interesting. Couldn't make out some of the dialog.

His angry face didn't really express angry. Some of the dialog hit high levels. Digital distortion was there. Maybe take a look at levels a little more next time. Between -12 and -6. I don't think I put two and two together with how he ended up dead.

Overall, nice work.

took a couple of viewings to understand what this was about... but on first watch i liked it and didn't know why exactly, so it compelled me to give it another go. Great acting and shots, some sound issues with peaking...

*SPOILERS*

An interesting concept and two interesting lead characters, but the fact that it relied so heavily on the phone conversations to tell the story i felt was a bit of a weakness... like relying on voice over to explain the action... as a general rule voice over should only add to the action, not take it's place... what we're seeing should give us everything we need but without the voice overs it would make no sense at all... there could have been something more in the two leads interaction that clarified the story... or some allusion to the brother's relationship that would compel him to steal his brother's kidney for money... Overall though I get what you were going for and i think you were mostly successfully. Great production values and well worth watching.

I got confused with the phone dialogue, the voices were too similar so I wasn't sure who was talking. As far as the concept I thought time was an afterthought to the story line. Camera work, shots were great.

Good job! Liked the music and thought it added a lot. Nice lighting, this film looked really good to me and there were some great shots. I liked the stabbing (that doesn't sound right, but you know what I mean), but I would have liked to hear her scream a bit more.

Spoilers-----
*Audio was distorted probably recorded too hot.
* WAY too many F-Bomb's. I don't think that was needed (MHO).
* I didn't really get the 'time' connection

Congrats on a great job!

Actually, I do agree with the whole audio part. I edited the movie on headphones and never monitored them on speakers.

Imagine my surprise when I played the film on my TV AFTER I submitted the film.

Lesson learned. Thanks for all the comments. It kills me that the audio doesn't sound like the way it should have. Thank you for enjoying the film

Now I don't feel so bad about all the cursing in my film. The one scene seemed overly violent for the amount information that was built up to make him do that. Thats an emotional connection type of violence instead of a you didn't give me what I want so now I'm going to kill you type. I liked that the story kept you guessing about what they were talking about. I think if you would have spelled it out it might have hurt why he was so desperate without back story to show why "it" was so important to him.
