When can we share the movies?

I don't think so.

Once viewing opens, anyone can view off DVXuser, but I'm pretty sure that it can only be online on this site.

I'm pretty sure you are only allowed to show the film (somewhere other then DVXuser) only after the fest is over- voting ect.

You can show it to your friends. You cannot put up a public link hosted anywhere other than DVXuser. If you put it privately on your server and send it to a friend, that's your business.

You can also share it once the links are live on DVXuser, probably later in the week, by sending people the link to your film here.

We don't want the films to PREMIERE online anywhere other than DVXuser.

... And note that "vote begging" promotion - on DVXuser, or other sites, is still strictly against the rules.

You can't promote specific films outside 'user untill voting has closed.

Are we still allowed to pay people money to vote for us?

Absoloutly not! That's highly immoral.

...

But I've heard that certain moderators can be bribed to "correct" with the voting system.

Apparently the going rate is about $2/vote.

- Mikko ... is cheap. I mean, erm...

OK, so once it's gone public on dvxuser.com, i can put it to vimeo ?

That's it. No Vimeo, Youtube, or whatever else is out there period.

Not Vimeo.

And no promotion on anywebsite other than DVXuser as Mikko reminded us.

You asked about sharing with your friends. What I'm saying is you can send Grandma and email with a link to your movie here ... on DVXuser. Not on Vimeo or Youtube or Myspace or anything else.

When the fest is OVER. You can put it on VIMEO or YOUTUBE or MYSPACE or whatever you wish.

Our customs may seem strange. Some may even be out dated and may be changed for the next fest, but for the time being they are our way :)

I like it how it is (at least as far as the whole "premiere" thing goes). This way makes it feel more like a film festival that has public screenings.

That part won't change.

Maybe offsite promotion will change.

Maybe we will be required to wear lederhosen while viewing (Barry Green put that one on the table for some strange reason)

I wear lederhosen when I upload everything. I was told it keeps problems from happening, and I've not had a problem yet.

Of course I haven't uploaded a film yet either.

...I vote Kilt....yeah a Kilt!

Kilts + Filmmaking..... Yeah Baby!
