"ACT II" a film by Flyin' Monkey Films

DVXFest Promo Guru
We came up with this fantastic concept last night after a few rounds of beers and hammered out the script between myself, and my writing partners Andrew Stoute and Theik Smith. It's a time travel story but doesn't delve into the mechanics of the story, so it's ended up being more of a drama/sci-fi type of thing.

Somebody actually described it as a horror/thriller story but I don't get that.

I've got a wonderful actor signed up: Alexis LaSalle
DP, Director, Editor: Rodney Smith
Grip and lights: David Byrne (as usual)
Story by: Rodney Smith & Andrew Stoute
Music by: TBA
Anyway, here's me announcing my re-entry into TimeFest with our new film:

Synopsis: Sally travels back in time to stop an attack on her past self, but discovers that memory plays funny tricks...

We're shooting tomorrow in Acworth, GA. Evening shoot consists of Beach scenes, then shooting the rest of the scenes at night.

Editing will begin on friday and ADR should be done friday night once we have all of the dialog down in the rough cut.

I'll be recruiting a composer over the weekend and locking the final edit over the course of next week.

thanks. the shoot should go pretty smoothly. small crew on this one and some nice locations, so it should look really nice. Good actor too and playing dual roles, so we have some challenging shots to do, especially the FX. pity the twins weren't up for it.

So my Dolly is in New York and my Jib is in Toronto... going to have to alter my shotlist and come up with some new creative camera moves (that won't be too shaky). This seems to be a repeating theme for these fests with me.... on the actual day of production, I have less gear than is optimal... oh well: time to push the envelope and do some more planning....

You're giving away my plot! How did you know Johnny Depp had the fight the 12 Monkeys with Brad pitt as ther leader? did someone leak the script?

Lesson of the day: do NOT under any circumstances wit until the middle of your shoot (interiors) to open your light kit and discover that your doorknob idiot office partners (who had previously sworn, oh we have our own light, we don;t need yours") DID in fact need your lights.

now lighting th scene with ONE LAMP, houselights and the one light said idiots forgot to take out of the light kit.

more updates as the shoot from hell continues!

most of my carefully planned shots just went out the window. can't light for them.
