Broadcast cam over an hv20 - JF Project

Hi

So some people ask for info about some details for an HV20 and some DIY 35mm adapter. So basically i have started to do a log of my project. The JF Project.
It's an old broadcast camera that i strip out and put the hv20 inside. After that, i put the extension tube in the open slot of the B4 lens and use the handle to control the zoom of the Nikon lens. And i focus just any other cam with my left hand. So it's give me a perfect shoulder mount cam.

I do also an external lanc remote control, an audio XLR circuit, an video switcher for video CUE, a driver for the viewfinder from the broadcast cam.

It's a huge project, with a lot of different topic. I post it over hv20, but if any whant to know more i can post here too, but i don't whant to duplicate answer. But feel free to ask.

Wow, you did a very good and smart job. Is it possible to remove the hv20 if you need it or is it too much of a hassle. And how much did it cost you to do this project.

That's pretty good. Is that the actual HV20 we're seeing in the picture or is that a picture of the HV20 in the picture?

Ok so after a long wait and a lot of trouble, i can post more on it. I spend a lof of time on different possibilities and now still waiting some components on the electrical part to assemble everything.

So basically, i start to build over a old bvp-3 cam. I strip everything from it. And for the lens, i try very hard to put or made an adapter with different lens to go from a B4 lens (a broadcast mount lens) to the 35mm adapter inside. by removing all the part, i was able to figure out how to put the lens with the actual mount... But pretty long time waste. Keep in mind, the goal is to use the camera inside the old broadcast cam and be able to flip it out the cam put back a tape into 10 sec. There's also a power section, a video switcher and a audio preamp for the mic and who also transform balanced to unballanced.

The great part is there's filter that i can use, from the original cam, but just to use them i got mo problem to align my lens to the camcorder at the inside of the body. So i turn myself to grab a 1/2 alu plate that fit inside of the front of the casing.

Here is the filter that are 4200-3200K-5000K-and 6000

here i spend 1-2 month to prep that. My small Dremmel are too small so i search over ebay to find out the right cutting head. After go to a different city to use a milling press drill at home. pretty long. Now i got other issues, but i will post more later this week.

And for the option to adapt a broadcast lens to the 35mm adapter focusing screen.. the focal are different. I got some doubler, x2,x4,x6,x12.. no luck, try big telescope lens.. no luck too. Here the best and almost only great result.. :

Picture are always too small to fill up the entire 35mm screen. So i turn myself into a big headhace. So i just took the handle of the broadcast lens and try to adapt it to a regular lens. more to post soon about that. And finally, by doing this, i gout my case too small and i buy an another cam a dxc-m7. more longer and into 1 long body. -as per the first picture in the post. So i strip again everything to get that :

So that a bigginnig. I will post more maybe today or monday. Feel free to ask question. (next post: viewfinder..)
