LENS TEST: Zeiss Super Speed (MK3) VS Zeiss ZF SLR's (Shot on RED)

I've read the same things as well, Ryan. And apparently the C/Y's are just as good as Z-series Zeiss lenses (A, K, M, F etc). Thus, I've gone and bit the bullet on some C/Ys.

I know form my use of buying used Nikkors that being able to buy a matched set of lenses that is well machined is well worth it. When I had the Nikkors, I had to hunt around, return lenses, etc. to get something that was good enough- all that time and energy adds up. And time is money, so being able to buy something that is realitively affordable, is great IMO. (At least compared for to a comparable set of PL glass. I'd rather own SLR, and then rent PL)

Ebaying and Googling around. There's a lot of info on Photo.net as well, very interesting comparisons. I've settled on

28/2.8, 35/2.8 (1.4 version is decently priced though at 1000.00), 50/1.4, 60/2.8 Macro, 85/1.4 and 135/2.8

Letus also offers a C/Y mount as well which is fantastic. Can't wait to get my hands on these suckers.

The 21/2.8... you oughta google around some tests on that thing. It's incredible. The 85 1.2 is supposed to be another crown jewel.

Sorry missed this question- the test covers much more then breathing. Read the full text and you'll see that it covers sharpness, color fidelity, vignetting, breathing, and mechanics. There are PDF, Stills, and video all posted at the thread on Reduser.net. Enjoy! :)
