HPX500 5600K Warranty Service

I tend to insure right around $10000. It is high enough profile that it keeps them focused on the whereabouts and is given some special watchful eye on its route. If I worked through a local dealer I would definitely take it back through their service warranty. That is why you bought it locally. They may actually have a better contract with UPS than an individual might, so the insurance may actually cost less through them.

Best,

Jan

I have asked for a serial number start, and will let you know, but you can always go outside on a sunny day at noon and see. But thw serial number start info should be coming in soon.

Thanks,

Jan

How soon? Today? I am waiting for this info so I can buy it, which I will do as soon as I'm sure it doesn't have to go back.

Hi,

As soon as I have the serial number start, I will post it. I cann force people to send me the serial number. The factory is out today and the guy at Panasonic US is on travel, and I am not sure he knows for a fact. So as soon as I know I will post here. My suggestion to you guys that are looking to purchase, just have your dealer send it in to Panasonic before they ship it to you. There will be no physical difference in the way the camera looks on the inside as it is primarily software. I am assuming that those serial numbers starting with D8 would need the update. Will know for certain later this week.

And the rebate ends at the end of June.

Thanks,

Jan

Jan... speaking of rebates...

Did the rebates on the lens stop... I was thinking that they were from the lens makers... but someone told me those rebates come from Panasonic...

Thanks...

No 5600K fix before shipping from factory?

No 5600K fix before shipping from factory?

Hi Jan,

I'm about to buy an HPX500.
I've heard from one US Panasonic dealer that new HPX500 shipments will not have the white balance adjusted before leaving the factory in Japan. Either the dealer or purchaser must arrange for the camera to go to a Panasonic service center in the US to have the work done.
I'm wondering if you can comment on this?

Many thanks,

Simon Sommerfeld

Hi,

As it stands right now I do not believe the factory has shipped any with the preset issue resolved, so the cameras do need to be shipped to Panasonic to have the fix implemented. Sorry. I would negotiate with the vendor to ship it in for you before purchase.

Thanks,

Jan

Just want to say that I just got mine back from Panasonic and it looks good. The guys at Panasonic were just great and answered all my questions concerning what they were doing to the camera.

Good work guys! Now I just hope you won't have clean up any more messes!

Thanks again
