-how solid is the build?
-how far can you stop down your lens?

also are there any photo's of your rig/setup?

- I made some arrangements with Jonathan so i could use the unit on my class project. From what he told me, if the timing is right in about 2-3 weeks he'll be shipping out the adapter to everyone else that preordered.

- The preordered unit cost me about $1350.

- Honestly, I think adapter is amazing I love the quality i get out of the picture, the adapter i had before the G35 was the Letus35a. So its a big upgrade. I also used the Redrock micro once in the past, in my opinion i think the bokeh from the G35 is far more superior. Thats just my opinion i know people will probably chew me up for that though but whatever.

- The adapter is pretty solid, i like how you can just screw it into the camera and go. The one i have right now is has a universal 72mm mount, but i'll be getting the dvx mount once its ready, which will simply screw into the DVX the same way the Lens hood does. If you wanted to you could store the adapter in a fish tank and it would still work, but its not recommended.

- What do you mean how far can you stop down your lens? The adapter losses 1.4 stops of light.

- My set up is a DVX100a, G35 Nikon mount, and a Marshall 8 in LCD to flip the image. I don't have any pictures of it right now but I'll post one up when i get back home this weekend. All the footage was shot hand held. Hopefully i'll be getting the DvRigPro HD soon but until then my wrists are gonna be really sore.

Good stuff. I know it was test footage but you used waaay too many film burns and eventually became more of a disturbance.

WOW! That was AMAZING! Verry well shot and loved the DOF. what lens?

Could you tell us where you got the film burns?

I think he means (I'm curious too):
On static adapters the GG grain is usually apparent at quite large apertures. How far can you stop down the 35mm lens before GG grain starts to degrade the image?

Very nice footage btw. Bokeh looks hawt.

neener, glad you liked the video, I'll try not to go film burn crazy on the next test footage. I just haven't used it before so i'm just trying to figure out a good balance.

dory_breaux these are the lens i used.

Test1:
Nikon 28mm f1.8
Nikon 35mm f1.4
Nikon 50mm f1.4

Test2:
Nikon 50mm f1.4

Thanks for the review!!
I'm sure everyone is dieying to get the G35 so these little informations are great!!

I meant about the F-stop of the lens for that question. Like when do you start to see the ground glass ? what is the F-stop?
for example can you stop down your lens to F22 and still not see the ground glass?

also, 1.4 stops is a lot of light loss......do you have any interior shots?

As requested, here are some pictures of my set up:

I'll be taking the G35 for another spin tomorrow or maybe i should say later today. So expect to see something soon.

What I simply love with the adapter is that it uses no rods. That's a huge advantage in many possitions.

And your test shots looks very nice indeed.

Footage was a bit shakey so i got a nice screencap though

I might try using the G35 with an HD camera later this week, so we'll see how that goes.

Footage and the look are real choice, I love it.
You could of maybe done a tad better with the encoding, it did look a bit notchy and jumpy.

you're looking at a 132k jpeg

how does that make it worse?
Don't get me wrong... the shots look yummy, I am just pointing out specifics.

Also, I just watched the footage... gorgeous stuff... love the burns and the color.
Is there a full rez link that I missed?

EDIT:
Good stuff. I know it was test footage but you used waaay too many film burns and eventually became more of a disturbance.

I didn't mind them in the least bit... it was an established theme for transitions, and those burns look great... I thought it was some of the best put together test footage I've seen in a long time... I usually want to punch the screen when I watch tests, but some times it is the opposite... this was one of those rare occurrences

I wonder where you got them...

EDIT II:

never mind about the burns.. found your link, ty
but which one was the one you used?

EDIT III:
I might try using the G35 with an HD camera later this week, so we'll see how that goes.

PLEASE post some full rez footage, and I second the interiors request, but not just interiors in HD, but a little bit of everything, and make just as beautiful as this one :D

EDIT IV:

I NEED to see that in 1080p... wow! We need a comparison with the SGpro... though it loses a lot of light, it still will be a KICK-A$$ adapter

I tried out my schools Sony HD camera but for some reason I couldn't use my external monitor on it so I couldn't excatly run around filming using the cameras viewfinder with everything upside down. I'm gonna try another HD camera tommorow so hopefully it'll work out. Anyways heres another screen shot from an video I'm working on.

Bokeh are nice, but most of it looks soft to me. Are you shooting with the lens wide open? Try stopping to f4 or f5.6 instead.

Not Soft... look at the girl smiling... that isn't too soft... and it is just beautiful....I think it is the DVX maybe?
