DUUUUUDE, awesome freakin' DP!!!!!!!

Love, love, love the Ross video alot, song is killer too!

Cant see the Young Cash or Coolio in HD; saw em on the other post but would love to check out the HD versions, especially the Coolio, the song's kinda whack but the vid is HOTT!!

Just curious about the Plies (and it is Plies not Piles, u probably don't care ;p) what did the "Crackers" think of the video after it was finished and did they know they were gonna be called "Crackers"?
Maybe I'm getting too old and racially sensitive but the whole time I was like "OMG I wonder if they heard the song before the acted in the video?" LOL

Last question, if you dont mind, could u give us the aprox budget for the videos, and as much production detail as u have time to?

Very, very, very, very IMPRESSED!!!

Just in case u couldn't tell, I really liked em,
Rock

how about quicktime?

What do you people want from me? I ut up links, you want HD, I put up HD, you dont like the format LOL

Actually if you go to the link, on the bottom right hand corner is says, "Download quicktime" just click that and save to your computer.

And you are right, it is Plies, and I know this.. somehow I am dyslexic with his name.

Yeah Lenny is the bomb as a DP and director.. He directed the Coolio video (not sure why it did not work, I just clicked the links and could see it)

As for your question regarding Plies.. let's just say it was not a comfortable set for us white folk. My impression at least, is that he truly hates white people. He is not a super engaging guy anyway but he would at least acknowledge crew members of other ethnicities. We just sort of got a cold stare and the cold shoulder.. but hell, I don't need to be his friend. He is free to feel however he likes.

Of course if he does not change that... he wont go as far as might be possible.. Jay Z learned how to play the Game, Biggie learned, even Tu Pac.

As for budgets and specs... I'll be back a little later for that. Gotta get running to work just now but when I have some time I will break down what I can.

Everything looks great. Perhaps an HPX 500 is in my near future

As an aside, I don't know how you can work in a situation where there is assumed racist attitudes towards...YOU! I can not work with artists like that regardless of whether they are hardcore urban rappers or backwoods white supremacists. Same thing in my book.
God bless you for your staying power.
Just my $.02

Ask Lenny where he gets all his Panasonic gear... Yup... we take good care of him.

He was just in our shop today checkin out our new showroom in Miami. We are putting EVERYTHING on display for hands on demos. We were taking Lenny's suggestions for the Panasonic demo area.

Thanks for the plug... BTW, we have plenty of HPX packages in stock looking for homes. They are selling well but we are increasing our purchase volume which means we are cutting deals or throwing in freebies within reason.

Although we are authorized dealers for all the top brands, Panasonic is my baby which I believe is the best or I wouldn't have purchased a HPX for myself.

The 100 years one looks like a lot of the shots have CA. Other look a little soft like a 35 adaptor or something.

The rest are pretty good.

Forgive me for not quite understanding your verbage.. 100 years looks like it has a lot of CA? What do you mean by CA? I can tell you that video had a very tight schedule in a practical location that was a working courthouse, so in many ways it was very run and gun.

As for the others.. compression if the only softness you are seeing. None were shot with an adaptor actually (We got rid of our PS techniks) The image in HD, on an HD monitor or TV look crisp and sharp, and I have never seen colors pop quite like these.

All I got to say is dude''your stuff is the best.
I saw all the videos I like them all.
Man you are a Pro.
Hope I can work with you one day just to see how you operate.

A lot of the clips got great color. The Coolio video was spectacular. The only negatives I see is over exposure and lack of dynamic range on the exterior shots of the other music videos. What lens did you shoot with?

CA = Chromatic Aberration.

It's very hard to make stand out hip hop tracks and vids these days beyond the paint by numbers stuff you usually see and hear....I'd say you and the artists managed to give it a fresh feel. Obviously you're not re-inventing the wheel, you do have to work within the genre to appeal to the core audience, but you managed to capture the immediacy and the grit. You feel like these guys are livin' the stuff. Ironically the only cut that feels a little tired was the Coolio vid (the guy with the biggest name). But it is forgivable due to the amazing eye-popping colors, and oh yeah, how can you go wrong with top notch hotties?!!!! All kidding aside, this is major league pro stuff!!!! Way to go!!!!

I see what Andrew was stating. Shots of the judge and the witness have very visable color fringing (CA) around the left side of their bodies. This is a funtion of the camera and lens and not any kind of user error.

The shots of the lawyers at the tables are a bit out of focus with the focus being on the objects in front of them (book & coffee pot)

I am not throwing stones, just pointing out that Andrew was correct in what he brought to your attention.

Overall great job and very high production levels.

Thanks for sharing!

Yes, me too have seen those out of focus shots. And some shots were overexposed. IMO this camera works best with 1 stop underexposure - the dynamic range allows it. But good work, fresh & funky. Really liked it.

Interesting that you got rid of 35mm adapters. In fact I liked the DOF the DP achieved with the 2/3" sensor, especially in very controlled situations where he accentuated it very efficiently with lightning. Respect.
