So I was asked by my barber to film a 30sec commerical for him. I would like to know what you guys think about shooting it. Should I shoot it in 30p or 24p? Since this will be on TV what should I export it at????
Funny, I've asked the same question on an earlier thread today. My question was more specific to the scene file settings but from what I discovered 30p is normally the commercial style setting you want to use. 24p is typically reserved for film projects but if your commercial is meant to be film like instead of normal commercial like then by all means:cheesy:
Well it all depends on what he wants, I have some idea but it was thinking about 24p, because its the ****. Unfourtunetly the short film im working on isnt 24p because I have my DVX and my buddy has the GL2.
A lot of TV commercials shot on film are actually shot at 30 fps, and telecined to what is essentially 30p video, so 30p is actually a valid choice for a TV-destined commercial.
What to do in this case depends on your artistic intent, but if you want to make a slick commercial, go for it, 24pA and widescreen.
I would shoot it in 24p (regular) so that there will be no trouble broadcasting it. I think a warm look would be cool, maybe a little faded too, like Will said.
well, most likely, the TV stations will want it on beta. Unless your local station has gone digital. At least for our local stations, they still want the commercial dubbed to beta. So, first you gotta find out what the TV stations want, every station is different. Some are behind the digital wave (our stations) some are right on top of it.
