yes, another duel adapter, p2, MBP, Leopard thread.
Just bought this MBP so I could use the Duel Adapter and boy am I frustrated. It took me awhile to even get the thing to mount the duel adapter. then it wouldnt see the P2 card .. and then it did, but then it would freeze intermittently. ugh. (and yes, I installed the new p2 drivers and repaired permissions and rebooted many times.. fun fun fun) (and yes I have everything updated to the newest versions)
I thought setting up boot camp and using the duel adapter in windows XP would work better. But nope.. Everything was recognized, but then the P2 card would disappear and I couldnt get it to mount again. So it was just as buggy in boot camp. (btw is there a way to copy files to your mac HD partition from windows?)
Went back to problem solve in Leopard. Right now I can get it to mount the p2 card through DA and even copy files. However, when I eject the P2 card, the duel adapter icon at the top disappears as well and I have to reboot, wait 10 seconds, insert duel adapter, wait 10 seconds, insert p2 card and then I can format.
Is this what I should settle for? A reboot to read and copy files off the P2, then eject and another reboot to format the p2? And then ANOTHER eject and reboot for the next P2 offload?
as far as I can tell from endless searching of forums, there is no sure fix for this. Am I correct?
