Hey guys,

I have organized a film festival in my Northern, Ontario mining town.

The article can be seen HERE.

So what I am asking of you guys, is that you submit some of your films. Since none of you would be here to collect any of the very small prizes, I am willing to waive the entry fee for any dvxuser that submits a film. It would help me out alot and you would have nothing to lose.

Let me know if your interested.

Thanks

I want submit my film. its 10:15 with credits. please contact me and look at userfilm my new one the first.

Hey all,

If your interested in submitting something check out the guidelines HERE
I am waiving the fee for all dvx users. So if you wanna have your film shown let me know. Or send it to me.

So here are the guidelines from the website.

Timmins Film Festival Entry Details and Guidelines.

( This is a guideline, if your film is 11 or 12 minutes dont stress, but 14 15 is going to be an issue.)
-All films must credit everyone involved in the making of the film.
-All films must have been made in no earlier then 2006.
-All film must abide by Canadian law. i.e No nudity or sexual acts with actors under the age of 18, no harming of animals for the purpose of entertainment etc.
-All films must be submitted on dvd.

The early submission deadline is May 15th.
Final deadline for submission will be June 6th.

Entry fees will be $5.00 for submissions received by May 15th, and $15.00 for submissions received after June 6th. These are payable by cash, cheque or money order and must be sent with the dvd.

Entry fees will go towards facilities, prizes etc

Send your entries to:

Timmins Film festival
Box 1763
South Porcupine, Ontario
P0N 1H0

Along with the dvd please send your contact information, when the film was made and the length of the film.

NOTE: All entry fees are waived for dvx users. I need to have a number of films to show in case the local community doesn't come through and all I have are my films to show.

ill send some other ones up there. will their be a publication about the event when it's over like critically or anything of that nature?

Their might be. I am assuming the local paper will cover it, and I want to let the reps know for cinefest in Sudbury, so maybe they will come out, which would be some good exposure as Cinefest is one of the largest film fests in Canada.

cool. just trying to get some good expossure... ill get some other peeps to send stuff.

ya the website is at the top, it is the first time anyone has tried to organise anything like this in my town, so its not a pro website, just a blog.

timminsfilmfest.blogspot.com

dvd with sharpie is perfect.

Hey guys I still need a bunch of entries, if you have a film you like send it out. Some exposure for you, some good film for the narrow minded minors.

Thanks

I have a short film 'Karl' part one of Slingblade but it is 14 minutes long. Unlike Slingblade it will make at least 70% of your Audiences jump in their seat. The film receved great reviews in both New Zealand and Alaska.

Zak I would have loved to screen that film at the festival. I am putting on another at the end of August.

I would like to thank those who sumbitted films for the fest, it helped make it what it was. The entry for the festival was pay what you can and I ended up making 100 bucks profit to go towards the next fest.

So thanks again to those who submitted films.
