XH-A1 + Premiere Pro CS3 Uzers ??

I'm just starting out with all this (new A1, new CS3 suite)

With the purpose of finding partners-in-crime, I was wondering if there is anyone else in this forum that uses these two together as well.

I'm sure there are issues that seem CS3 (Premiere or After Effects) related that might be linked to the XH-A1, or visa-versa.

I figure having one thread where we could post Q&A would be helpful.

*So much to learn. So little time. . .*

I have used premiere 1.5/2.0 and now on CS3. I capture using premiere/vegas/HDVsplit/m2t files(firestore).

Wow that sounds real good Colorista, and magic bullet along with the grade of color the A1 has, Man I'd like to see it.

I've had CS3 since last summer and got my A1 in the fall and the kit works well together. I use an HV10 for capturing to save wear on the A1. I don't have any of the fancy bits like Cineform (which causes me great headaches every time I try it), or MBLooks and Colorista, although I would like to.

Working these last 6 months with this basic kit let me learn the baselines of what the camera and CS3 will do and I think given me an understanding of the basics of shooting, editing, CC and the like using these tools. If you're of a mind to do the same I think you might get the same benefit.

I'm all over the fancy bits, but money and practicality have limited me to the basics for now.

I'm on Vista HP 32 bit by the way.

Howdy Ho!
Nice to meet you all and thanks for all the 'homework'.
I'll be Googling my eyes fuzzy for something other than naughty pics. ;-)
-MBLooks, Colorista, Cineform . . . -

Very good, very good.

My specs: (as it were)
TOTAL NEWBIE
HP pavilion m9150f
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
3000 MB RAM
720 GB HD
NVIDIA Geforce 8500 GT Graphics
Vista Home

Now, don't let that intimidate you, I just wrote what's on the side of the box.

I've found I've been mistaken to use Vista's auto download from my XH to my PC.
Seeing they automatically end up as .wmv files.

What file exention should I be downloading/capturing my footage as?

I just thought I downloaded/recorded/captured 20 minutes of footage via Premiere and I find I have 30 seconds. . .

What's up with that?

Having fun talking to myself, it seems.
Well, carrying on then>

I have my audio cutting out during playback while editing on Premiere.

Just thought I'd let you all know.
In case anyone has had the same problem and knows how to fix it. . .
