The scariest 6 minutes of film I've seen.

ahhhhhh!!!! nooooo!!! hehe... nice find Matt

I love how that guy in the green shirt is locking himself onto the cable and the cameraman whisks by him hehe
and how since the dang thing is so narrow that the camera goes off the edge even when he is walking forward

and how in the world did he aim the camera while balancing and walking across those beams? insanity.
Had to be a helmet camera. At least, I hope it was. If he was using up an arm to hold a video camera, that's crazy. But the way he pointed it at his feet as he tightrope-walked those poles, it makes me think it must be a helmet cam.

i went and watched it again. to me the shadow looks like the legs of a tripod at 1:20. at 2:34 it looks like he's got the lcd screen flipped out. what do you think?

Yeah, I think he is somehow holding the camera. The shadow of his had doesn't look look like he is wearing a helmet cam. And the camera doesn't move like it is attached to his head. You would look much more around.

Holy... almost gave me a heart attack. I too was thinking "hmm nothing scary...hmmm... hey wait... whoa hold on a second... omg!!!"

I'm not surprised it closed. But considering how dangerous it looks, I'm surprised they only closed it in 2000. But of course, why would that stop people?

Did anyone else think this walkway could come straight out of a video game? Like Tomb Raider. All we need are bigger gaps, and some rods and vines sticking out of the wall and from an overhang to swing across.

I think the guy's handheld. In a few of the shots it looks like he's passing people at waist level.

Is it just me or does it look like asphalt? It really doesn't appear to be cement and I see no evidence of rebar anywhere.

Yikes.

I didn't like heights before I watched this and now I remember why.

Did anybody hire this guy, looks like he'll go anywhere and do anything!

There's not enough money to be paid to be the people that built this

passage. Thou I would love to see some video of it being built.

I also say handheld... the shadows give it away... it looks like he used a dvx-sized camera. See the front box in the shadow? What blows me away is the first beam he walks across appears to be round... and you can see from the "body language" of the camera that he had to center himself on the pipe, as in... leaned out towards the drop for balance.

The path was built in 1901... I followed the wiki-link earlier in this thread and it's an interesting read. It's amazing that this was wide open to the public until 2000. Apparently a bunch of people were killed there in 1999.

And it's cement, not asphalt. I've watched that video about 6 times now... I never get used to it. I wonder if the stumble at the very beginning was an accident or intentional? That's a good setup for everything that follows.

Is it just me, or when he pans up to get that mechanical thing near the end... do you feel like you're going to fall over backwards?

It would be a nervous climb, no doubt about it. I'm totally curious about those tunnels that branch off the path. There are shows about Urban Exploration, where they find old buildings and other places that have been abandoned for decades, and I would be so up to that!
