BIG news from Letus!

i love my letus extreme to death, and its light loss, but man i wish it had better bokeh. More circular patterns, less blur.

Ultimate still:

Honestly....what is it that you can't see in that still? There is little compression compared to the original. This should be more than adequate to judge the image

Varicam - P&S Technik Pro - Zeiss Cinema Lens Comp.

Even though this still was not shot at the same time, here is an example of what teh Bokeh looks like coming out of the Varicam using a P&S Technic Pro, and a Zeiss 50mm T1.3 Cinema lens. This was shot in the interior of the senate building in Salem, Oregon. The highlights you see are from the light coming through the window, as well as reflecting off of the desks. There was no artificial light in the shot- just Day light.

I thought that I would show this for some comparison of how good the Ultimate performs:

Hien was distracting my ability to focus at that point....he just kept yelling in my ear "GET THE BOKEH, GET THE BOKEH!"

I dunno, D, that shot looks a little out of focus.

I think it's more in focus than Ryan's masterpiece? :love4:

Anyway, through the magic of post, I was able to apply a sharpening filter on my still (funny, I don't actually remember that dude on the car while I was shooting):

and here's the same sharpening filter used on Ryan's still:

This is the same filter they use on CSI, where they are able to blow up an ultra low-rez image of a tiny license plate up to 4k resolution. Pretty nifty.

I demand that Hien meet me at the Panasonic booth where we shall confiscate an HPX500 and put the Ultimate on the Relay on the HPX. Then we will shoot something. And it will be good. And then I will spend a preposterous amount of money.

Hmm. Perhaps Hien shouldn't meet me at the booth...

LOL. The challenge has been issued. Make sure you take him a glass of really good lemonade, though. Trust me on this one.

:D

Nice work D! That filter does come in handy. ;)
