Be well all...

What the f*ck! I'm so sorry.. I hope you find your beloved gear. I'd kill those sons of bitches myself!

Good luck!

Wow that really sucks, well here's what I'd do

Check (places to look)

- Pawn shops
- Flea markets
- Used camera shops
- Ebay
- Skate parks
- Basket ball courts
- Beach/lake

Check them consistently, I would think that it'd be a few days before anyone decided to take it out for a spin.

Where was it stolen from (car, business, event ) ?

Hope your insurance pays out quick.
Once, many moons ago, I was uninsured, and left my scuba gear in my car when I stayed overnight at a new girlfriends house. It was raining and I couldn't be bothered to hump my gear into her house as I was out in the boat at first light. In the mornjing I walked to my car and saw a windscreen lying on the gras. The thieves had cut the windscreen out and stole the gear. No ebay at the time or internet. I trapsed around the dive shops and second hand shops. The gear was never seen again. Cried my eyes out. I was a stupid student and lost thousands of pounds worth of gear because my d*ck ruled my head after a few beers. To rub salt in the wound, the boats skipper still wanted me to pay for the dive trip, even though I was b*ggered.

Moral of the story. Get insurance. Buy a condom. Even when you are ready to jump bones, lug the gear to a safe place first. And get insurance.

And did I say get insurance?

Hey all,

You guys are the best..many thanks for the support...It was stolen out my vehicle. I do have insurance for it thank goodness...but it does suck...some personal stuff was on my P2 cards i would love to have back... but u live and learn..

And thanks Steve ;) bad things happen to good people... thats why we have insurance.. Sucks about that for u as well ! we all learn...

this thread has inspired me to get some camera insurance.

If you dont mind he asking how much does it run you for a policy?

I'm so sorry. I'd be crying right now if this happened to me. Clearly you are much stronger. Goodluck in your hunt!

EDIT-XTREEM :
For reals ! i know...so wish it was...but all too real...

Simonb:
Car insurance def wouldnt cover it as the broken window is all they are viable for..tho for a regular user the persons homeowner policy might cover something...check it out..

I had the policy mainly for when i rent and what not....i have a 1m general liability, 100,000 rented property of others..and WHEW a mear 15,000 to cover my own personal gear (loss estimate of 10-11k)

whole things ran about $850 yearly or so...

My policy is through : The Hartford
Agent was : The Jarrett Agency great folks...

I am so sorry then.. Good luck on your search, maybe you can call up some of the manufactures, some keep records on stolen products, if you have the serial number.

Wow. LightSource... I am in New Hampshire. Not sure that I will see any of that gear float up here but I will certainly keep an eye out.

I will check craigslist, pawn shops and any place your gear may show up.

Really sorry to hear this. Sucks, I know!

I really do hope that we get a lead on this. I would love nothing better than to catch some of these bastards!

Not cool i hate crooks. I was working the supper bowl this year and my trailer was ripped off from the motel parking lot how ever i was lucky all my production gear was on site insurance covered the trailer. Light Source i feel your pain i would watch ebay.

really blows, man. i'm sorry.

surprised no one posted a fake ad listing all these items for sale in the marketplace, in the spirit of April 1st.

I hope you recover everything.

In the UK you need either seperate gear insurance, or have it on the household like I do. I have a clause that I am covered to up to £15,000( $30,000) if I have my gear stolen while I am out and about. Hardly costs me any extra.

LightSourceMedia,

File a police report with your local police. New England Law Enforcement Agencies shares a common database for pawned items. The New England State Police Information Network (NESPIN) geographical region includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The center also has member agencies in Canada. They can enter your camera's serial numbers and if it pops us they can recover it. Encourage your local agency to contact NESPIN.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I agree that there are very few things worse than a thief!

Sorry for the loss. I am in Massachusetts near Providence and will watch if anybody is trying to sell stuff cheap. One day I was out on Narragansett Bay with my boat and the outboard sucked in a plastic bag and blew the engine. After hours the Coast Guard towed me into where I launched it at the ramp. Only thing was that my car was there with no trailer. They stole my trailer and winch...All this in one day. Being the persistent person that I am, I tracked down the thief. Let's just say justice was served! BUT, that soured me on boating and once I got everything in order, I sold the works!

Check out Providence pawn shops as well as Massachusetts ones.

you should double check, I have gieko or however you spell it, and if my car is broken into as long as you have full coverage they will cover anything stollen from the car. if the car was parked in the driveway of your house on your property your homeowners may cover as well, if your a renter, renters insurance is only good for whats in the place, but many homeowners cover anything on the property.

Good luck finding these bastards,

let us all get the car I saw on Manswers the other night. it has flame throwers built in and they torch anyone trying to brake into your car.

good luck
