Did you find a low priced XH A1?

Can anyone think of a reason to to buy it at B+H rather than J+R? Maybe service if I need to have it serviced?

It seems like it will be around $100 cheaper at J+R because it's $70 less plus free shipping.

They're both solid sellers. Myself, just as a precaution, go with the one who offers the easier exchange if DOA, or dead within first 15 or 30 days. Most electronics die in the infant mortality stage. I didn't buy any repair insurance because the plans I saw didn't offer "drop" repair.

Hi all

I am new to this site & videography, but I just wanted let y'all know that I just bought a brand new factory fresh XH A1 from www.buydig.com with an extra 4yr warranty and a 6 hour battery all for the low price of 3358.89 also I'm in the process of sending in for the $250 rebate (camera must be bought 01-01-08 thru 03-31-08) postmarked by 04-30-08. I got the rebate form from the canon website.

Oh, I forgot to say that shipping was free, and I ordered it on Monday and received it on the next day!!! I guess them being in New jersey and me in Phila didn't hurt any :-) unlike some of the others that would have to ship from Oregon !!!

I also just purchased a new XH A1. I went to the Canon site and it only shows expired rebates for that camera, no current ones. Would you be kind enough to post the link to Canon where you downloaded a current rebate for this camera?

Thanks

There's a lot of confusion regarding current Canon rebates. It seems Canon was planning to offer rebates on the A1 (and probably other cameras too), but then decided not to. Apparently they did create PDF rebate forms that did get out on the web anyway. Unless something has changed pretty recently, Canon is not currently offering a rebate on the A1.

Greetings all-
Well, after much consternation, I decided to give BuyDig.com a try. BuyDig is Beach Camera in NJ. Being a B&H guy, I was really walking on eggs ordering from them.
Thing is, they are $3095. They claim to be a Canon authorized dealer.
It all want smoothly. Well-packed..shipped immediately...everything in order.

So, I'm in the backyard messing with profiles today..first day I could play with it.
As an off-thread comment, I like the OutsideN profile best...looks like it might be good indoors too.

Take care all.. Bob in Hot Springs

Don't walk on Eggs

Don't walk on Eggs

I ordered last Thursday and received the next day (and that was the free shipping option). Very fast NJ to CT. The camera came all well packed, warranty card and fresh. I love it! They are a fine vendor.

Cheap Xh A1

Cheap Xh A1

Has anyone ever had any experience dealing with "iprodigital"?

I found a canon there for 3 grand but I am hesitant to purchase.

I googled them but found no feedback from other buyers, they also dont have a page at resellerrattings or epinions.

Anyone have any feedback for this site?

Sonic Cameras has them for $1099?

Sonic Cameras has them for $1099?

That has got to be pure nonsense.

Anyone ever deal with them?

Hi MVansomeren

I'm an idiot, when you asked about the rebate on canon's website I should have just sent you the pdf file that I used to send in my rebate ( which canon said my check was sent out to me). If you have a way that I can get this pdf to you before it ends I will be glad to send it

Thanks, I managed to find it online and already sent it in. Hope a check is on the way to me too.

I found a deal on www.iprodigital.com the Canon A1 its $3,049.00 but you can chose a discount package 1, 2 or 3 so, you can pay $3,399.00 and have an extra High Capacity InfoLithium Battery, Lenses kit, a rapid battery charger, a hard case and 2 year extended warranty + some other things. All this sound super but I don't know nothing about the store ( I try to find the store on www.resellerrating.con but I cound't found it).
Some one know something?

Check to see if the site is a scam, you can do so here: http://www.resellerratings.com/rlist-s1-n2.html

Just find your site and read the reviews. The one site that I find comes up in these fourms too often is Best Price Cameras.

And if you do find a good deal from a good source, post it here; the threads are over populating the fourm.

So moderators, either sticky this or make a new section for Canon Prices. Because I feel this should be discussion on the camera itself and not the prices.

Sites that are known scammers:

Best Price Cameras
EXPRESSCAMERAS

Want me to add another site? Just reply to the thread with a site name.

Some scam sites usually add notes to try to trick potential customers into buying from their site. On this advertisment they mention so many things that shouldn't be necessary if they were a legit seller. Elsewhere on the site they keep saying that you can call for service. If they don't have disclaimers on their advertising, visible restrictions or a legend icon (such as an asterisk*) odds are, it's a scam. :D

Watch out for other sites like Rating Planet, which rate well known trusted sellers high (such as B&H Photo Video) and also rate sites such as EXPRESSCAMERAS high. For now, just trust Reseller Ratings.

If you're still unsure, ask about the site here in this thread.
