I think i'm going insane. because i googled to see if there was mac viewer software (to possibly update why it can't see my 16 gig), and I get a ton of 'yes' answers and they all take me to panny's website right here where it is only for PC. (seventh dialog box down)

https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/desk/e/download.htm#p2viewer

What am I missing? Everytime I google it, same thing. People saying yes, go here, then when I go there, it's only for PC.

My laptop is PowerPC with the slot in the side.

Thanks Barry. I'll do that. Actually I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that- update my mac software. I had some major issues (frying my logic board twice) with some crazy FCP bugs, then Apple finally fixed my laptop for good. And I never want to loose my old laptop cause it has the slots in the side for dumping.

Do you know why they dis-included the slots on the new mac pros?

Anyway thanks.

You have no choice about updating the drivers, if you want to use the 16GB cards. The new drivers are mandatory.

No, but you can get a Windows laptop with the slots today. The G4 powerbook still works but it's much slower than a modern Windows laptop for offloading; I can offload an entire 16G card in about 8.5 minutes. So if you ever want to upgrade, and you're using it primarily for P2 offloading, consider that a Windows laptop is far and away the least expensive and fastest offloading solution available.

Never heard of any application, much less FCP, ever frying logic board.

The application don't have the capability.

Must have been something else.
