No preview in the log and transfer window? FCP

Could you detail what you are doing with what OS and QT version and how you are doing the log and transfer?

Bet it's the DRM bug in QT 7.4.1 Been stinging a lot of unsuspcting P2 users. You need to downgrade. Google Pacifist to downgrade your QT back to 7.3 or 7.2.

From what I've read, don't move past 7.3.1 QT.
That is downloadable at Apple's website, but it is hit and miss on using Pacifist to install it. Better to do a clean install of OS and start over.

I agree, but I have had luck with about four or five other users doing it, including my two of my clients.
Clean install is best but a huge time suck too.

Apple's fault, but our responsibility.
I would get a WD 2.5 inch bus powered USB2 drive and make disc images of all your install discs and QT 7.3.1 installers.
Then keep it in a safe place, and use it to install if you have issues.
Takes a long time to do it, but you can do it at night while watching movie.
I also have all the CS3 installers on it as well, together with dmgs of all my necessary apps.
I also have a pdf file with serial numbers.
If I need to I do a clean install with all updates, and then clone that drive immediately as backup.
When I have issues, I copy the critical files to the clone drive, and then use it for a couple of days as my boot drive. If it works I clone that to the old drive.
Keeps things running smoothly.
As I said, Apple isn't different than any other company insofar as upgrades are concerned.
It's our responsibility to maintain a clean system, not Apple's.
