I F***ING HATE YOU -- a film by SABI -- the extended 9-minute cut

Zak, reading your heart of now thread over the course of the past year or so, you've become an inspiration to me Now, after reading this thread, and seeing IFHY, and these reviews and whatnot, you're now flat-out my hero. Will you be my mentor?

uhh.. this is getting a little overwhelming... i've just been contacted by an agency and production company / financier who wants to talk about my slate of future projects.

i woke up this morning depressed that I wasn't able to "push through" with my career and suddenly all this? craziness.

of course it was shot on HV20s!!! is there any other possible explanation as to why I didn't sweep first, second and third place in LoveFest? it's all about the camera, baby! haha! :2vrolijk_08:

I dug it. I really enjoyed the main dude's acting, good stuff. Fairly good writing. Funny song there at the end.

Maybe felt a bit too long. I didn't see the festival cut, so I'm not sure how it compares. But since it's shorter, I'm interested!

And while the cinematography and overall look of the film was very cool, it felt really out of place for this story. We've got this funny, charming little flick... then this really dark, gritty camera work. Just came off rather strange.

But I finished the film and was still entertained, so there you go! But I'm curious as to why you chose that "style" of shooting for this piece.

just got an email from the southside film festival. We've been unofficially accepted. They'll make the public announcement in two weeks.

man, does it have to be so difficult to get a link to the movie? I've looked at all the stuff on this thread, really interested in taking a look and nothing but links to white knuckles all over the place. Nothing about what this thread is talking about.

The last poster asked for a link and you sent him the one above and told him to click on private screening. Cool, but there is no private screening link anywhere on the page...

what gives? Where is the link? You have me interested.. :-) Please please, a link...

if i were to put it online, I'd be disqualified from consideration in film festivals. also, I plan to distribute it in the near future.

I couldn't find the 'private screening' link to watch the 9 min version, help a dumbass out please.

why did you choose to use the sgpro over other 35mm adapters?

Which lenses did you use? I hope this film succeds looks very good!

new review... FOUR out of FOUR "Cigars"... I bolded the good stuff...

I ****ing Hate You (2008) - By Brian Morton, Rogue Cinema

I can't help but think that when this crossed Editor Duane Martin's desk, he couldn't help but think of me, since the "F" word is one of my all-time favorites. And, in the spirit of full confession, I was very excited when I saw the title. Yes!! Finally, a movie that actually speaks to me and the anger management issues that I have. Well, not only was I totally wrong about this movie...I couldn't have been happier to be wrong!

What you get in I ****ing Hate You isn't a hate filled movie at all, quite the opposite. Here's the story, Ron and Carol have broken up, when Ron returns some of Carol's things, the only thing she wants to keep isn't in the pile. So, clearly seeing an opportunity, Ron invites Carol back to his apartment to get the mug that she wants. Once there, Ron reveals (in a very unique way) that he still have feelings for Carol and, after leaving, we get the idea that Carol isn't totally finished with Ron either.

The real cool thing about I ****ing Hate You is that there was no script, no planning, it was an improv on the part of cast and crew! And, despite all the obvious problems that I'm sure shooting like that brought, what they’ve given us is a beautiful little movie, in looks and more. I ****ing Hate You is not at all what you might imagine, it's a love story with more heart than I've seen in a while, and the 'love song' that closes the story is both funny and touching...in fact, it's one of those songs that I'd love to have a copy of!! You can find out more about I ****ing Hate You by heading over to the Sabi Pictures website. I'm giving I ****ing Hate You four out of four cigars, because it's not only an attention getting title, but it's one that really does mean something in the film...on more than one level. So, until next time, when I'll still be giddy from being able to get the "F" bomb so many times into one review without having Duane send me one of those "control yourself" emails, remember that the best movies are bad movies.
