Hvx purchase, B&H question

will i recieve a free 16 gb p2 card when i purchase a hvx at b&h?

i know its an authorized pana dealer, but they did not answer my mails.

EVERY time ive TRIED to use B&H ive found them exceedingly unresponsive as far as customer service goes - i say try full compass, spec comm, abelcine, etc...

however B&H IS an authorized dealer (as are the other three vendors i mentioned) and should honor all rebates or offers.
 
If you want personalized service, don't shop at B&H. Try one of the other retailers as wgzn suggested. B&H is great for when you know exactly what you want and need it deliver promptly and on time, not so much for when you have questions.
 
Give Shawn Tallard a call at Full Compass - He's a member here and will take great care of you. I've also had great service at Spec-Comm. B&H has possibly the worst customer service I've ever seen. Finding alternative vendors has been like night and day. Things ship on time, I'm not lied to, the orders are correct. And the prices are the same or better. I do enjoy B&H's website though - great to look around on and shop somewhere else.
 
If you go to BH's website and look up the HVX, click on the "item includes" tab. It lists a 16GB P2 card as part of the kit.
 
why isn´t it sayin that on the hvx pal? actually it also should have an free card included? anybody got any infos? and maybe anyone knows a place where i can buy a pal hvx in the us?
 
Because no PAL cameras include the free card. Only US-authorized units have it, and only NTSC units are US-authorized.

Agreed.

I will no longer shop there after they claimed to have lost my $200 gift certificate (given to me) when they told me on the phone that I had to mail it to them. I did exactly what they wanted and now I am out $200.

Definitely use one of the other companies that will stand by their word.

I purchased my HVX through B&H in early December. The customer service on the phone was really good and I received my camera the day after I ordered. Inside the box came the free 16 GB p2 card. So in my experience, you will get the card and the camera just the way the website says. I don't know what other people have experienced but I have never had one problem with them.
 
I've had great experience with B&H so long as I knew exactly what I wanted and ordered via their webpage. The few times I spoke with someone was a so-so experience.

I got my HVX200 from Spec Comm and they were great. Even quickly answered my panic concern with the infamous HVX "weird clicking/thumping" sound when turned off. When I ordered mine the unit didn't come with the 16GB cards. In fact the 16GB cards were in short supply. I ended up getting one from Abel Cine, one from Zacuto and my last one from Spec Comm.

I live just up the way from B&H, so all my experiences are in-store, and they've been excellent. It's one of the busiest, yet most efficient retail stores I've ever been in. And there are many very knowledgeable sales staff working the floor, but I find it helps to learn which ones they are. I shop there often, and very contentedly.

You're absolutely right. B&H BLOWS BIG! Customer service is horrible. I don't think I've ever witnessed anything worse! Pricing sometimes is cool and yes shipments arrive when they're supposed too.
 
To me ordering from Spec-comm was definitely worth it, the personalized service did it for me... BH just seems like the Wal Mart, but yeah you will get a 16gig, keep in mind you'll get an extra battery from Spec-Comm.... I suggest shooting andrew a PM and seeing what he can do for you... Also shawn at full compass also had an excellent offer when I was looking as well.
 
While I agree with you, Steve, on the value of personalized service, comparing BH to Walmart doesn't work because Walmart has deeply discounted prices.

For great prices on the HVX, I had a positive experience from Studio Exchange in Burbank, Calif.
 
I bought my HVX-200 from B&H in February. They explained that last Nov., they returned all 200s in stock and were resupplied by Panasonic. Now each box has a P2 card inside. Order the camera...the P2 card is part of the deal.

But, again, to be clear: this ONLY applies to authorized USA units. B&H also sells gray-market PAL units, and those units will NOT have a 16GB card in the box!
 
I didn't buy my HVX from B&H but I've bought other things from them and their customer service was decent for me.
