Trouble uploading P2 footage to multiple computers

I am having trouble uploading my P2 footage to my friend's computer. I uploaded it to my computer and it runs just fine. When I tried to upload to my friends computer, I ran into errors. The footage wouldn't play on his computer and it wouldn't upload either. I tried to transfer the footage from my hardrive to his computer and I ran into the same problems. It wouldn't play off the hardrive or let me copy it onto his computer. I do not know if it is a problem with my computer, my P2 card, or his computer. I'm confused because the footage plays just fine on my computer. Does anyone know what the problem is and/or the solution.

Thanks

What kind of computer/software/os is your friend using. How are you getting the footage to your friend. Are you sending .MOV files or .MXF?

Simply transferring the material requires the drivers to be installed. In order to edit the material, you'll also need the DVCProHD codec.

If you have a Mac, you need to install FCP or FCS. If you have a PC, things get more complicated.

The P2 Content Management System that you can download from the Panasonic P2 Support Desk will let you view P2/MXF files and is a good choice in the field on a laptop.

We both have macs and FCP. The only difference that I know is he is using FCP 6 and I am using FCP 5 I don't know if that is a big enough difference or not. I sent him the files in quicktime format
