Hey,

Nice stills. What are the orange and tourquoise gels?
I'm trying to do a similar effect with bastard amber and peacock blue.

Peace.

Matt

Just to clarify, Takeshi DP'd. I was just AC and 2nd cam where applicable. We used a mix of CF1Le and CF2Le, if you care to know.

Thanks. We shot on a low shutter speed for most of it and everyone was moving around a lot so it was hard to find a sharp frame because of the motion blur but actually the full sized shots look a little sharper. I made then 50% in photoshop and took a screen shot to get them this size and it seemed to have blurred a slight bit.
I hit you with an email Matt.

We used Nikons all around except when I starting messing around with a no name zoom in the club. It was hard as hell to focus with all the movement but since its a music video the blurring in and out didn't bother me. I even blurred it by hand back and forth on purpose.

ohh i hate slow shutters, they are so problematic espiecelly in music videos. it looks like the shots are out of focus when there is a lot of movement.

looks good but a lotta light spills, too much for my taste. i can even see the spill from the cracks of the barn doors. i mean dont get me wrong, i love the overall look but i just cant stand light spills. iam like a doctor in an operating room when i see one, i gotta fix it.

Light leaks to me in certain situations are more pattern to work with. I don't mind a little white light coming through and making a shape.
Yeah slow shutter makes for not so sharp pictures especially with the energy in some shots. The girl at the bar was like the energizer bunny, she wouldn't even hold still for us to focus on. Not that thats a bad thing though.

That bunny was definitely energized. I doubt viewers will be paying attention to any motion blur on her shots :)

Just came from a Biggie Smalls tribute tonight thrown by these guys and it was a great show. These guys go hard all on their own and put out their music themselves. Got to hand it to the peeps that make things happen nto matter what.
