Hello,
I Just got the camera yesterday!

and I have played around with it, and figured out most of the buttons.

the problem im having is when i record to the p2 card and try to play it back it just displays a gray or multi colored pixelated screen?
at first the the clips were playing fine, then later in the day i noticed they were playing this way? when i tried to play the first clips i recorded they did the same, all gray or pixelated.

I did not switch modes, I just started recording in the default mode.

and i then formatted the card and tried again to only find the same thing?

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Sven

What format, frame rate, etc. did you shoot?

Which Panasonic authorized company did you purchase from? What does it say?

720p/60p I diddnt really change anything from the defalt, untill after the problem to try and figure it out

I also contacted panasonic support and they checked the serial # and thats cool!
but they have not gotten back to me yet on the issue?

You could try hitting the master reset button on the camera. It is the little pinhole button to the left of the "BARS" and "SHUTTER" buttons under the LCD flip out screen. But I am not sure if that is what it's supposed to be used for. So ask a panny tech before doing it.

Sven,

It sounds like a service issue. You may need to send it to an Authorized Service Center for the HVX200.

I've made a few purchases from them, and they've always been VERY responsive. If they couldn't solve my problem or question, they'd either find out or provide a place and name for me to pursue on my own.
If you haven't yet heard from Panasonic, at least call the vendor to see what help they can offer.

It may be a p2 card issue... do you have more than one p2 card chance?

I think you will find 4videoequipment to be very responsive to your needs. I'm sure, since you just bought the camera that they would probably replace it for you, but I don't know exact procedure, so don't quote me. First thing I would do would be to figure out if it's the p2 card or the camera that is causing the issue.

no i dont have an extra card, couldn't afford it.
yes i feel very comfortable with them, and i really am not worried, just a little anxious to use my camera!!

I am being told that every thing is under warrenty and i can send it back to be repaired? the camera that didnt work out of the box, I can get repaired??

Does anyone live in the philly area thet has a p2 card i could try, or an hvx they would try my p2 card in to try to narrow this down?
Thanks Sven

yeah, you can send it in for repair, but since you just bought it, it would probably be much more convenient, and quicker to just have it exchanged from where you bought it as a DOA item.

Sven,

I am not that far from the Philly area. I live in Allentown and work in Bristol. Depending on where you are I may be able to help.

As for repairing or replacing the camera, I would rather replace it.
