So I was trying too shoot slow motion footage at 48fps on the HVX, but stupidly I left the camera set t 24p and not PN. So now final cut just says it unrendered in the timeline and it is all jacked up. Is there a way to convert his footage to 24PN so it will playback in the slow mo at 24fps in the timeline? Thanks for your help! Its newbie central over here.

I don't use FC, I use Edius BS and it mixes and matches footage for you. That said...

Try exporting the 24p footage out (so the pulldown is removed) and import it into the timeline.

You've shot 24p footage so you don't actually have the extra frames for slow mo. You can always slow the clip down or use After Effects to do the slow mo - twixtor if you have it.

Thanks for the reply. So If I shot 24p at 48 frames per second it doesn't actually record the 48 frames? So even if I could convert it I would only have the 24 frames.

Pretty sure you can only shoot variable frame rates in pN mode. So I think you must have only shot at 24p.

Variable frame rates can be shot in either the 720p or 720pN modes. But if you want slow-mo you'll have to use the 24pN mode or, in post, the Apple Frame Rate Converter utility.

Thanks for all the help. I can only find the PowerPc version of the frame rate converter. Does anyone know where I can get the Intel Mac Version? Thanks!
